Five Thai teenagers have been taken into custody after assaulting a group of young visitors on Pattaya Beach. The visitors were celebrating a birthday when the local teens attacked them, resulting in several injuries.

 

Police Colonel Nawin Thirawit, the Superintendent of Pattaya Police Station, led the operation that arrested the suspects on August 4th at around 9.30 p.m. Two of the visiting teens were injured during the early morning clash; one of them seriously.

 

The assailants, who range in age from 16 to 26 years, admitted to the assault but claimed they were defending themselves. They said the victims started the fight with knives, leading to a struggle and their subsequent injuries. The police haven't disclosed the names of the individuals involved in the incident yet.

 

Legal proceedings are now being initiated for the arrested teenagers.

At least it did not involve foreigners, let the locals have some fun. It's all a part of the Thai mentality. 
 
 

Horrible. Nowhere else in the world does this happen. I think Ill go to NYC or London.

If knives were used were they discovered on the beach or on the Perps and why were the visitors from? maybe China or Korea.

Deflection....... it is an issue needing action when attacking with knives and serious injury is involved,

I call foul.... It is deflection because they claimed knives were drawn so they could escape punishment for their actions. It seems pretty obvious the teens approached the ones at the beach to start a conflict. They probably came prepared to fight or even inciting it.

Where victim and perpetrator statements are involved here, lots of lies about. 

Let's see, checklist for the beach visit.  Towels, change of clothes, suntan lotion, ice chest with drinks, snacks, hat, phone, sunglasses and knives.
