John Wayne, Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin, Judy Garland, Hedi Lamarr, Sammy Davis Jr, James Dean, Katherine Ross, Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman.

I didn’t know any of them, and I don’t miss any of them.

Oh, I forgot Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, Jimmy Stewart, Bob Hope, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Amanda Blake and Audie Murphy

Donald Duck & Goofy

Apparently Donald Duck is still around, it's a Trump alias.

Vance fits Goofy to a T.

  • Chishu Ryu (actor in many of Yasujiro Ozu's films; (Ozu is my favourite director, bar none).  Films include:  Tokyo Story (voted the greatest film of all time in the 2012 edition of a poll of film directors by Sight and Sound magazine) ; Floating Weeds, Good Morning, Late Spring, Early Summer.
  • Takashi Shimura (200+ films, including 21 of Akira Kurosawa's 30 films).  Ikiru, (considered one of the greatest movies of all time) Seven Samurai, Sanjuro, High and Low, Kwaidan.
  • Toshiro MifuneSeven Samurai, Rashomon, Yojimbo, High and LowThrone of Blood, Red Beard.  Also, Hiroshi Inagaki's beautiful 1962 film Chushingura (in my opinion the best film about the 47 Loyal Retainers) as well as Inagaki's celebrated Samurai Trilogy
  • Others:  Jean Gabin, Anthony Quinn, Peter Ustinov, Alec Guinness.

Ooooh!

Ouch.

They may be the next incumbents on Capitol hill.

Given a choice of either, I think I would still prefer Goofy over Donald Duck though.

Having said that I would not wish either on the American electorate.

I thought Lauren Bacall was great, way back when.......

I like Florence Lawrence. When I was young I fell in love with her. She was the greatest actress in Hollywood, but now it's Trump. It's a shame.

My Main Crush, Maureen OSullivan , Jane , Absolutely Lovely and Charming

ENOUGH ALREADY...

Driving to Bangkok Saturday morning for 'Saht-Gen' and a meetup with expats at the

Future Park Mall in Rangsit.

Terry

Dirk Z:

Liv Ullman and Marie-France Pisier

Oh, thank you, sir, for your discernment and impeccable taste.

Good memories of Liv and the beautiful Bibi Andersson in Ingmar Bergman's fascinating 'Persona'.

Marie-France I watched with pleasure in Truffaut's 'Stolen Kisses'.

When she died, President Sarkozy made a public statement honouring 'her supreme elegance born of the most perfect simplicity'.

Asia Carrera (from Celsius)

Wasn't she outstanding, in more ways than one, in that postmodern classic 'Titty Bar 2' (filmed, I believe) in Silicon Valley?

Or have I got the wrong pair?

Can I put Tom in the Mix?

And Tony too? Or is that a horse of a different colour?
