PM suspected of Trying to Erase Evidence Related to Thaksin's Hospital Stay

Recommended Posts

Thais generally seem little interested in politics and though their apathy is understandable given the poor calibre of their politicians, it generally means they get the leaders they deserve.

Guilty as charged.

Lock her up.

And put him back into jail, real jail.

And don't forget to punish all the people who enabled this charade.

Unfortunately that'll never happen..

That is a very jaundiced and depressing outlook on life. Your  logic holds that Pita Limjaroenrat is guilty of  all the  "crimes" his opponents claim. The presumption of innocence is a cornerstone of democracy and  a society where basic human rights are respected. We all know the Thaksin clan has a history of being dirty. However, an allegation of  something does not make a person guilty.    Many people consider foreigners who visit or live in Thailand to be  child molesters. Is it right that everyone be presumed guilty because of the crimes of a few?

Pita is not a politician. Not really. He is one of the few noble ones. I think you could argue that only a few politicians at the national level worldwide are corrupt. You could also argue that only a small percentage are righteous.

Yes, I am very cynical about politicians.

Wasn't he given a ROYAL PARDON on Sept 1st? The report says  she is suspected of removing CCTV footage". It was a police hospital, so surly the police would have removed it if it was removed. They couldn't get her on her business involvement so try something else. remember...She is the one kicking out all the junta bought representatives.

Thankfully you have no authority, nor power to act on your imagined world.

What we have is an allegation. In Thailand it is easy to accuse. Political factions like to point  their grubby dirty fingers.  Proving the case is something quite different. The PM is entitles to the presumption of innocence. The burden of proving guilt lies with her accusers.

Thank you for your post. Read it early Monday morning. Always good to start the working week with a good old hearty laugh.

Isn't funny when people who themselves wouldn't want their rights trampled on are quick to appoint themselves judge and jury without even seeing the actual evidence.

No, how can they accuse such a stand up guy, who has never done anything breaking the law? Just look at his LM case, that is going to be nullified, while another get about 50 years last week in his LM case. The whole family is a sore wart for the future of Thailand. They all deserve long prison sentences.

And thankfully, you are floating on fluffy clouds up in the world of imagination. It would be terrible to have you in the real world.

Nah, I vote for your deportation. Project much?

Those who wish to tear down the current 'government' in one form or another never seem to consider the current likely consequences, which are unlikely to be an improvement.

Yep, over 50 years for LM - and what did that guy do? He posted video of a person doing something in public - since that person can do no wrong, the court should be charged with LM for claiming the actions of that person in public was anything less than holy.

The suspicion arises from claims that Paetongtarn may have orchestrated the removal of CCTV footage and other evidence to cover up her father's purported deception.

Looks like she is as unscrupulous as her old man.

I'll add a few words in bold...

....allow entrenched corruption and the public (through their voting) have no hesitation to support the building of political family dynasties,

But that's just it... the public didn't vote for it! They voted overwhelmingly for Pita.

What will be the reason given for the COUP? To preserve democracy & public order?

That's how it's done here.

Uh-oh, she's in big big trouble, just wait until her father gets home.

Oh, ummm . . .

There is nothing to destroy as he never was there..... It shows again how corrupt the society is and there should be a decent investigation what happened by an independent institute and when things were not as reported the ones should be held responsible for it , jailed and banned

That would be a reason then, wouldn't it? No evidence of him entering, residing, leaving...

What a classy comment! I thought a person who chose Jonathan Swift as a handle would be more grown up. Also, where have you seen there is an option to vote for such things?

Agreed, a committee will be set up. A year from now all will be the same. But as for the Pm being presumed innocent, i disagree. The PM follows her daddies wishes. He is a controller. Besides this. They already have testimony from the guards that were overseeing his stay in the hospital saying he never left. Surely, this is enough as we know all prison guards never accept bribes or make false statements. Their testimony should be enough that makes viewing video evidence irrelevant alongside a few envelopes being passed around.

I worry about this new PM. She is young and will have no future if she is doing everything daddy tells her. She has a long life ahead of her and do not think she wants to spend it hiding out in another country exiled or fleeing.

She has no future doing as she told or doing her own thing, the minute daddy is off the scene he's finished.
