Hello. My tourist e-visa is expiring on the 15 of october. On the 21 of october i have the possibility to travel to Seoul. I have no problem paying the 500 thb fee for every day overstayed, but are worried i will get a stamp in my passport as that would be problematic for my DTV application later on. I have also heard i can apply for an extension on the 15 october to then get rejected and get 7 extra days. But would that lead to any stamping aswell? Thanks for any reply in advance!! 

Why not buy a 7 day extension from immigration 1900bht.

Show them your ticket "I just want to stay until my flight leaves".

If your tourist visa is expiring on 15 October you can request a 30 day extension using a TM7 form a couple of weeks before. Costs 1900 baht

 

Does OP have a TM-30, or the necessary documents to apply?

Do not go into overstay. 

You have easy option to obtain 30 day extension to the current permission of stay.

Which immigration office are you located. 

Don't overstay, fine and stamp on passport is the least of your problem, which might escalate if caught before Immigration. Get a 1900THB extension, you are still on time.

Your passport will receive a "...Leave the country within 7 days" stamp.

Im located in Bangkok, and i have already applied for extension.... Thats why i cant do it again, but from what i have heard the best option is to still apply and then get rejected, but with a 7 day extra to leave the country

You dont think it will be any problems with overstay stamp for further applications? I dont have the possibility to extend because i have already done it once. I just need 6 extra days to make my flight....

I can get the TM-30 if that is needed for anything else

Thanks for advice its what i thought to be the best option. As long as it not messes up my DTV application later on

The denied extension (7 days grace period to leave) won't cause you any issues later on. Much better than going on overstay.

How come you not leaving the country before? What is the bottleneck for you? Budget?

Overstay will turn our DTV application into an office trashcan basketball at whichever consulate/embassy you apply at, lol. 

Unless you are laid up in hospital you  don’t “need” to overstay if  can afford an air ticket.

This includes being fired from your job for not showing up, missing your child’s birth or piano recital, or the Tilly Birds concert

 

Overstay is a choice, take proper action or suffer a stamp of shame in your passport

How would anyone know if "application for extension not approved, you must leave the kingdom" stamp will effect a DTV application?

It would not.

It's a common thing and nothing to do with overstay. 

As a result will not affect things such as PE Visa application etc

Yeah, overstay is always a bad option, that includes a lot of possible problems directly or in the future. Should be avoided at all costs.

Change your flight and leave simple.

I would be booking a quick flight to Phnom Penh and back a day later and get a 60 day visa free entry. No way would I want an overstay stamp in my passport.

The denied extension and 7 days o leave the country has zero short term consequences, unlike an overstay. However, you absolutely MUST leave by the date you are ordered to leave. Other than being in the hospital, no excuse for any further delay will be accepted.

Just go to Penang for a couple of days. Is that too hard? Depending on your nationality you won't need a visa to visit Malaysia.

Resist the easy way out do not risk an overstay record in your immigration data base. Apply for extension. 

I read a case of an Elite visa application declined for two days overstay four years previous. 

 

 

Get the 7 days, it is not a black mark against you, even though it says "extension for stay rejected"

Have you thought about back-to-back border run just before your current stay permit expires? Depart Thailand by land. Enter one of the countries next to Thailand.

And come back here on the same day.

This  way, you can go without overstay.

Convenient border is just up to where you are now.

If you don't want to  travel alone, contact one of the  visa agents that often operate border run vans. You can meet instant buddies with the same purpose to the same border.
