Chinese man calls Thai women prostitutes sparking online outrage

Two Thai women shared their experience of being insulted by a Chinese national who called them prostitutes on TikTok. A well-known American teacher and many netizens condemned the incident.

 

One of the victims, Pinyada Nantakhamee, posted a video on her TikTok account, @made_moji, on Monday, September 23, in which she tearfully recounted the unpleasant experience during her trip to China. In the video, Pinyada was heard saying…

 

“I’m crying, everyone. I can’t believe this happened. I didn’t expect my trip to China would result in this. At first, I didn’t know what the Chinese national was saying, but a guide told me. The person said, ‘Thailand is the land of prostitution.’ It’s such a hurtful insult.”

 

Pinyada also revealed that the Chinese person loudly called her and her friend prostitutes, and other Chinese people around them found it amusing, laughing at them.

 

Many of her followers expressed support and encouragement, while others strongly criticised the behaviour of the Chinese national. Some even suggested that Pinyada should have responded with Thai insults and laughed louder, claiming that Chinese nationals back down when confronted more aggressively.

“Save your money for domestic travel. Don’t go to countries where you’ll be insulted.”

In the comment section, Pinyada mentioned that she took a photo of the Chinese person who insulted her and her friend. Many netizens urged her to share the image publicly but as of now, she has not done so.

 

A well-known American teacher David William, also created a video offering his support to Pinyada and her friend. He condemned the Chinese person.

“People who insult and stereotype others are ignorant.”

 

In his video, William shared a personal experience in Italy where a local made sweeping generalisations about Asian countries, saying he had no interest in visiting Asia because all the people, culture, and food are the same.

 

William said this led to a heated argument and he urged the person to stop stereotyping. He advised Thai nationals facing similar situations to stand up for themselves rather than staying silent.

There are rude people all over the world, it's just that the Chinese and the Russians have a near monopoly on rudeness, they're both incredibly arrogant, and they both have a very false sense of purity. For the Chinese it's rather amusing considering that they have a government that trades in organ harvesting, locks people up for the tiniest little criticism, or their religious beliefs in concentration camps, and several restricts their import market, engages an unfair trade practices, is a major bully in the South China Sea, I could go on all day about how heinous the CCP is.

 

As far as Putin goes what can one say about Putin and the Kremlin? Corrupt beyond that the wildest reaches of any imagination, morally bankrupt serial killers, state sanctioned sports doping programs, both are parasite nations, to a staggering degree.

Where in China? What was she wearing, appropriate for the venue/area? I mean we have seen foreigners here sunbathing in certain areas, and they were roasted as well. I'd be willing to bet there is way more to this story, but I'm not going to take one side of it.

That’s what happens when the most popular tourist centers in Thailand have prostitutes out the front of bars, gogos etc calling out to the tourists, even married couples and in front of children. 

 

If they were a bit more discreet about it like in other countries and kept it out of view behind closed doors  like in most countries it would be better for the image of Thai women. 
 

And if the prostitutes themselves were a bit more discreet and didn’t go out in public holding hands in restaurants, malls etc with obvious customers that would also be helpful.

 

Many people get the impression that most thai women are prostitutes because they are everywhere. 
 

They should be ashamed of themselves.

He explained that Thailand has lost a valuable reference from a creative and production point of view. The movie showed new perspectives of Bangkok that went beyond temples, Chinatown, Cowboy Alley or Pattaya.

“The loss of such a reference is significant because future filmmakers would have used it for their research. This movie had excellent footage for future projects. Now Thailand could be discussed as a problematic filming location because of the problems Apple has had in the past. Other locations might be preferred to Thailand.”

The Chinese were the ones that brought organized prostitution to Viet Nam in the early 19th century along with their opium dens. Throughout SE Asia, the Chinese established brothels with women mainly from southern China catered for the Chinese diaspora.
