A food delivery rider suffered a personal nightmare when a customer refused to pay for a KFC order, claiming a ghost had placed it. The eerie incident took place in Chon Buri province, with the police stepping in to resolve the situation.

Police from Don Hua Lo station in Chon Buri received a distress call yesterday, October 1 at 11.30pm from 33 year old Penapha, who works as a food delivery rider. She reported that a customer had refused to pay for a KFC order worth 850 baht. Upon arrival, the police found Than, the customer, sitting outside a rented room.

Than spun a spine-chilling tale, insisting he had been fast asleep and hadn’t placed the order. He bizarrely claimed that his late girlfriend’s spirit had possessed him to do so. With no funds to cover the meal, Than reluctantly agreed to accompany the officers to the station if needed.

Penapha recounted the story to the press.

“The customer ordered KFC worth 850 baht and chose to pay on delivery. But when I arrived, he said he had no money and that a ghost had ordered the food. He even threatened that if he got too hungry, he might kill someone.”

Penapha further added that she had previously delivered to this same customer who had paid in full that time. She explained that she couldn’t cancel the order in the system due to company policies. If a customer places an order and refuses to pay upon delivery, the rider cannot cancel it, leaving her in a difficult financial situation. Having worked the entire day, losing 850 baht would be a significant loss for her.

Police officers, after speaking with Than, suspected he might have psychiatric issues. They decided to assist Penapha by taking both her and Than to the Don Hua Lo Police Station. At the station, the police collectively paid the 850 baht, ensuring Penapha was compensated for her work, reported KhaoSod.

Won't the fries also be soggy after flying all that way ? 😋

not to mention the extortionate price tag.

The "fries" of above mentation outlet in the OP  do go soggy very quickly and are of tiny proportions. 🙁

Good cops, bad customer.

But in the land of spooky ghosts everything is possible.😂

850 baht buys a hell of a lot of chicken. I wonder how much of it he got through before the coppers arrived.

This hardly seems fair on the delivery rider.

Who got through anything. The delivery woman did not give him the order as he refused to pay.

My God man, you're right!  There is no mention at all of what became of that mountain of chicken. Perhaps the ghost got it.

I'd guess that the police officers who paid for it would have had it.

Why should she lose the money... she is only the delivery rider?

If the order is taken, and agreed a COD method, then it's the companies loss.

A Brit comedian called it 'lumps of bone and gristle wrapped up in shxt and deep fried'....

The excuses these people come up with is astounding!

Not possible now. Texas chicken no longer operating in Thailand.

Maybe because of too many orders by unpaying ghosts...

The American chain, which has been in the country for nine years, is bowing out of the Thai fried chicken market, leaving many wondering who will fill the void

Not anymore.

They all closed down at the end of September

If the order is placed with KFC by the customer then it should be a payment problem for KFC, not the delivery driver.

Texas Chicken is no longer ...its going ,going ,gone ..

You mean the Ghost is Bodyless. But not Tasteless?

...a customer had refused to pay for a KFC order worth 850 baht...

To the people working for $1/each delivery, it is certainly a Nightmare...

I don't spend 850 a day unless I travel to the other areas  in Thailand or buy some gadgets.

Yep the delivery drivers certainly seem to get the sh*ty end of the stick.

Makes sense a ghost would order deceased chicken from a dead franchise.
