Accident Tragic Fatal Crash at Phetchaburi Intersection Claims Two Lives
Picture courtesy of MGR Online A tragic traffic accident unfolded at a well-known dangerous intersection in Mueang district, Phetchaburi province, leading to the heartbreaking deaths of a mother and daughter. This devastating collision, involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle, occurred at 3.50 pm on June 8 at the Nong Kai Thuean intersection, Nong Khanan subdistrict. Police Lieutenant Thanakun Wiriyapong, deputy inspector at Mueang Phetchaburi Police Station, swiftly responded to reports of the incident. Upon arriving, the tragic scene revealed the lifeless bodies of 49-year-old Duangjai and her mother, Juan, who had succumbed to their injuries at the site of the crash. The accident involved their white Honda Scoopy i motorcycle, registration 1กก 4106 Phetchaburi, which lay forcefully displaced off the road following the collision. Standing nearby in evident shock was 26-year-old Phattharaphong, the driver of a silver Chevrolet pickup truck, registration 3ฒว 2942 Bangkok, which bore visible damage on its left front side. Preliminary investigations revealed that Phattharaphong was travelling from Hat Chao Samran subdistrict en route to a garage in Tha Yang district at the time of the crash. Conversely, the victims were making their journey from Baan Nong Wa to Don Yikrok on their motorcycle. The intersection, noted for its absence of traffic lights, became the site of the fatal collision when the pickup truck struck the motorcycle with significant force. This engendered a catastrophic impact, hurling the motorcycle a staggering 50 metres away and resulting in the instant deaths of Duangjai and Juan. In the aftermath, police have detained Phattharaphong for further questioning as they continue to unravel how the tragic event unfolded. While the driver was visibly shaken, authorities are moving forward with legal proceedings to determine accountability in this grievous incident. The accident at this notorious intersection has once again highlighted the urgent need for improved traffic regulations and safety measures in these high-risk areas. While the community mourns the profound loss, there is renewed focus on ensuring such tragedies are averted in the future. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Thaiger 2025-06-09 -

If you found 12 million baht in a box near the trash, would you keep it?
I would keep half and then report to the police that I have found a box containing ...erm....a lot of money! This would be in the knowledge that if nobody came forward to claim it, it would be shared between you know who. I've just made sure of my cut. 😉 -

Crazy farang
I live in Isaan Oh yeah, I keep getting you and the Ready guy mixed up, you both attack me for my justified, negative foreigner comments. In Pattaya, we have many foreign tourists on their motorbikes, these people are dangerous, you must watch for them, most are incompetent. -
