Police arrested a Thai man in the Suan Luang district of Bangkok for distributing explicit videos of his ex-girlfriend in revenge for contracting a sexually transmitted disease (STD).

 

Officers from Prasat Police Station in the Isaan province of Surin received a complaint from the victim in May 2022, stating that her ex-boyfriend released nude videos of her online. The suspect, identified as Paitune, then fled from Isaan and went into hiding in Bangkok.

 

According to the victim, she met her ex-boyfriend on the TikTok app in January 2022 while she was in Surin. The victim later moved to Bangkok to work and live with the man before they broke up in March, after which she returned to her home province.

 

This month, Paitune posted the explicit videos of the victim on social media, tagging her friends to view them. The woman then decided to report the matter to the police, providing Paitune’s social media account as evidence.

Local police were unable to arrest the suspect, who fled to Bangkok, and so they handed the case over to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB). CIB officers located him in accommodation on Phattanakarn Road in the Suan Luang district of Bangkok and arrested him on October 6.

 

According to a report by FM91, Paitune admitted to his actions, claiming that the woman contracted an STD but had not informed him. They engaged in unprotected sexual activity, which led to him contracting the same infection.

 

Paitune said he was angry and broke up with her upon learning the truth. He then sought revenge by sharing her explicit videos.

 

CIB officers transferred him to Prasat Police Station for further legal proceedings. Paitune was charged under Section 14(4) of the Computer Crimes Act for importing indecent material into a computer system accessible to the public. The penalty for this offence includes up to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to 100,000 baht.

Says something IMO.  She can get and give him an awful disease without telling him she had it, and there is no charge/offence?  Posting pictures of her is definitely out of order, but 5 years in jail??

That would depend on whether she slept with him while she knowingly had an STD at the time, or if the transmission was 'accidental' - i.e. she did not know at the time that she had contracted an STD before at the time she'd slept with her boyfriend.

 

If she knew, then she is clearly guilty of an offence, though I'm not sure what that would be in Thailand, it could be a public health order offence if knowingly passing on and STD - in other countries I know this is a real offence but usually dealt with on a case by case and severity basis.

 

His behaviour is something separate, its pure and simple revenge and illegal, and thus deserves any charge thrown at him.

Are you serious? inadvertently passing on an STD versus maliciously posting compromising pictures online to get revenge by ruining someone's reputation are hardly similar offenses.

We've all seen the news of women being beaten, murdered and set on fire.

She may not have know she had it. but we don't know that.

He was very stupid to do what he did, but 5 years in Jail or a fine that large is too harsh.

Anyway, unless it's herpes or HIV, a dose of pills will sort him out.

how do you know she knew that she had an STD?

Got together in January, broke up in March, and he has only now posted the media in October.

He must have been festering for some time, thinking about his revenge.

   Didn't you recently post that you had no qualms about passing on STD's to young females ?

   That you looked for new young girls to have sex with them without a condom and unbothered about giving them a STD or them getting pregnant ?

   Rather hypocritical of you calling her a slut who spreads diseases , as you do the same as her

   Reminds me of someone who I knew who contracted a STD from bar girl and the hospital he went to told him to inform all his recent sexual partners about him having n STD and for them to get tested as well .

   He told the bargirl that he had an STD and that she should get tested fir it as well .

   She said that she didn't have to to to the hospital because she already went a few weeks ago and is already receiving treatment for it

Technically, giving someone an STD should be considered assault if they know they have one.  But, in a big saving face culture how many will admit it?

No I never said that at all.

 

i said the most effective way is to drink lots of beer before the act. They always serve beer where bar girls are found.

Then as soon as you finish, urinate and it flushes the STDs away. Cleans it all out so to speak.

 

The more beer the better. The more flushing.

 

i know you will argue, scientifically not 100% conclusively proven in the lab, but proven out in the field where it matters.
