How was the procedure - Smooth & clear? How long did it take for your visa to be approved. Thank you in advance for the info.

October 18, 20241 yr Did a non O retirement in Australia in March. Very easy and visa sent by email in 3 days. All I needed was to upload scans of: - Passport ID page - passport photo - Aus bank statement - proof of address in Aus (I used drivers licence)

Don't worry about the "State Pension" part, you don't need one you just have to show the normal financials 2. Don't worry about the "No Longer than 90 days" part, that is just your Visa, once you have the Visa you can start doing 1 year annual extensions.

I don't know about Bangkok Bank but I used an app generated statement from my Australia bank no problems. For info, my Krungsri Bank app gives a bank statement which I download/copy from the app so don't need bank to email me a statement.

Immigration is not involved with issuing e-visas. The local embassy is. I used a self-downloaded Kasikorn bank statement for my O-eVisa, no problems.

Yes you can take it all out as the home country bank statement is only to show you have the funds for a 90 day non-imm O. Once in Thailand you need to open a Thai bank account and deposit 800k baht for at least 2 months before applying for the 12 month extension (obviously this 800k can come from the home bank account you used for the e-visa application)

Entering Thailand and presumably obtaining 12 month extension. No point taking the funds out as it needs to be seasoned for 2 months for the extension. If not planning on obtaining the extension then yes could withdraw funds once eVisa issued

How is a person going to open a Thai bank account and put 800k baht in it when you are applying in your home country. This is why the requirements say equivalent of 800k baht so you can use your home country bank account

I'm on a non-imm O from Australia right now and you can get it from most countries, especially if they have access to e-visa.

A non O can be obtained in home country or nearby Thai consulates/embassies eg Savannakhet. Also countries that provide eVisa. Note some countries will be switching to eVisa eg Vietnam. Non O can also be obtain in Thailand at immigration from a visa exempt or tourist visa entry.
October 19, 20241 yr Yes. In January 2024 from the LA Consulate for the OA. Used EVisa and this time the number of documents was less than in the past. Submitted everything on the Evisa website and got the approval email in 10 days. It was very painless and even using my US credit card to pay the fee ($200) was seamless. In the past it was "pain in the ass" get the charge through on Evisa if I used a US based credit card. For Evisa K Bank was the merchant of record.
