Featured Replies

Why are so many people wearing black today? I was on the BTS and about 70 percent of the people were in black. I tried googling it but got no answer. What's up?

Okay, but why would they be wearing black today specifically? It isn't his birthday or anniversary of his death.

There isn't!

And because there is no logic you won't find any logic.

Conclusion: Don't try to find something that isn't there. After you understand this concept live becomes so much easier in Thailand.

Good question. Start a survey.

Ask them and tell us the result.

Extremely important 🤗

Quite right. These dates in the Thai calendar are to respect the passing of past kings: Chulalongkorn (Rama 5) and Bhumipol (Rama 9) so there is logic if you know something about the country you are living in!!

I remember about 40 years ago in Taiwan black became popular for no particular reason other than fashion.

They are so very sad. 😔

Too many weirdo and nasty foreigners coming to Thailand now.

to remember the black slaves ?

no whities in that time, china did not invade yet and got citizenship, the good old days?

Maybe they have realised that white clothes don't stay white here for long after a few washes ! 😄

Why not? Up to them.

Because they think black has style. This is also noticeable in the choice of car color, drivers want to convey that they have style......But you either have style or you don't, all the black accessories are useless if you're an idi@t:coffee1:

The anniversary of start of Kings funeral which lasted 5 days

Saves on laundry bills because stains and dirt do not show up as much on light coloured clothing!
