  • Oh great, another left rant. Why not throw Hitler into it as well?

  • Why don't you refute the arguments instead of just saying "another left rant?" I guess you find facts hard to argue against.

  • Because when it says, "Why do you throw your support behind a convicted felon?" when everyone who has half a brain cell knows the charges were political, it doesn't warrant a rebuttal. It is just a fa

A better question would be why do non Americans especially the British, seem so obsessed with American politics?

I bet 95% of Americans have no idea who the British Prime Minister even is, because it is not important they could careless.

I think the answer to your question is that ever since the establishment of the ongoing unresolved US civil war that has been diverted into relentless involvement in "foreign" interventionist militarily actions aimed to enhance and/or maintain superiority control or suppression of any real or presumed challenges .

Unfortunately the typical result of the devolution of an empire based on domination by any means  is to be witnessed to crumble and eventually submit .

The current situation is the desperate attempts by the real multi national corporate financiers to preserve the extraction of exorbitant wealth that Trump so easily facilitates.

As do his devotees he clings to the delusion that he possesses some innate fiscal insight rather than being a puppet victim of egotistical ignorance. Hence his abject failures at anything except apparently gross copulation resulting in cloning !

Interestingly the above cloning  has been  with multiple immigrant wives !

Perhaps the last result has the intelligence enough to perhaps even flee to maternal territory ?

Perhaps/ doubtlessly covid19 curtailed Trump's previous attempts to be inserted into Emporacal status.

Frighteningly it did not subdue his enthusiasm to again be installed to be the reaper of benefits to the well funded  few. Not for wealth because he has already recognized/adopted  the methodology of grifting a prepaid lifestyle at the expense of unpaid hopefuls.

Trump Tower sits upon multi million unpaid leases to a German land owner entity.

The list of liabilities is pages long.

So yes ! Why do decent Americans support Trump?

Because ignorance is oft called  Bliss !

Its for haters like you that the 2nd Amendment was designed.

sadly it's gone totally in the opposite direction now, loonies sucking on the state tit for all it's worth and oppressing the will and freedom of intelligent God fearing folks, who want peace and harmony in the world

I really am amazed at how effective Leftist propaganda became since 2016 to frame a billionaire real-estate mogul and reality TV show host who had a seat at the table at venues like The View and other left-leaning and progressive TV show - and then just like that - once he threw his hat into the Presidential election ring, it started..."Russia Russia Russia, Putin's Puppet, Orange-Man-Bad, Evil Trump Monster" and has now morphed into, "Trump IS Hitler, Trump is Mussolini, Trump is Fascist, Trump's supporters are all Nazis, they all must be stopped by any means!"

Amazing...  What I think amazes me most is how other 'decent' liberals (I still consider myself to be a Classical Liberal in the same way as guys like Jimmie Dore and other classical lefties - which now makes me a "far-right Nazi" - go figure?), anyway, how decent liberals could swallow the bait - hook line sinker boat motor - and suddenly become almost violently Anti-Trump and Anti-Trump supporters.  The rhetoric on the Left is violent.

Yeah - I don't get it.  It makes no sense, and it is irrational.  Before the first, "You're a Fascist MAGA Trump supporter,"  nah - I just voted for Jill Stein - I was going to write-in Taylor Swift, but - Jill Stein.  Now if you must start calling Jill Stein a "Nazi" do remember she is Jewish.  Careful with that.
Bottom line?  I don't get it.  The hyperbole. The angst. The almost violent anger. I simply don't understand it. And the implied violent undertones of the rhetoric on the Left.  I consider it to be off the scales.

 "Trump is a danger to OUR Democracy."

You mean "your" Democracy where only Democrats win.
Ya'll are now red-faced, veins in your face and neck hyper-extended with rage, bugged-eyed, and screaming hatred toward Trump and conservatives at every opportunity, and screaming for the current administration to "do whatever is necessary to stop Trump and his supporters!  Because? "They are all Fascists and Nazis and Trump is Hitler!"

Anything?  Now, there's the clear and present danger to our collective US Democracy.

I'm sure you are feeling very self- satisfied in your perceived intellectual superiority (and for a change at least you do bring more to the table than the usual Trump fanboys) but your whole post falls down with the facts.

Russian collusion was proven - just ask Paul Manafort or Michael Flynn or any of the seven U.S. nationals, 26 Russian nationals, and one Dutch national convicted because of the Mueller investigation.
Putin's puppet - you obviously have forgotten when Trump threw his own intelligence services under the bus in favour of Putin   https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-44852812

And as for this assertion that liberals have somehow 'swallowed the bait' when the truth is so much easier than that - all you need to do is actualy listen to Trump. He talks of 'poisoning the blood of our country' and talks openly about the 'enemy within' , openly discussing using the military - 'I think the bigger problem are the people from within. We have some very bad people. We have some sick people. Radical left lunatics. I think it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military, because they can’t let that happen,”

And finally, no we don't mean "your Democracy where only Democrats win'. We mean democracy in its pursest, unadulterated form - not a dictatorship, not a fascist state, not run by an amoral fraudster and convicted sexual abuser only out for himself and other equally warped individuals.

Is that really too much to ask?

I dont support anyone. But Trump could end up being one of the most influential people in US history.

And this may be too deep for some people, but Trump will potentially bring about necessary chaos in the US which will ultimately lead to a better system.

Not because he's a great human being with no character flaws or even a great president.

His reason for existence seems to be to bring about chaos. And the chaos may ultimately improve the country.

Though again, this may be too deep for most people to grasp.

Trump indeed has already been influential. Negatively in terms of public unrest.

Unfortunately  you may have ignored the reality of the  modern world  which provides almost instantaneous global reactivity !

The former president (he HATES being called that BTW) convicted felon/serial sex offender/proven fraudster has no morals, no ethics, no intelligence.  Anyone who supports him is the same.

What going to be interesting is the number of new convicted felons from the present administration there suddenly will be if Trump is elected.

Then what you'll find is that you'll be burning mad because you'll claim that "your convicted felon" is as pure as the wind driven snow.

See - that's the problem with Lawfare.  Once the genie is let out of the bottle (and the Democrats rubbed that bottle and made their 'convict Trump' wishes), then that genie is on the loose and free to tangle everyone in his Lawfare web in the future.  In America, you could convict a ham sandwich of a felony given all of the laws on the books and how politically biased judges (on both side) wish to take cases to trial.

The Lawfare Genie should have never been let out of the bottle.
But?  Too late.

Yeah yeah yeah.....Trump is Hitler, a Fascist, and a 'convicted felon.'

A recent post by @Mazungu was deemed unacceptable because it came from a "social media" website and according to the AN rules and regulations and was therefore closed. I for one, have no problems with that because the integrity of the AN website and posts has to be kept intact.

However some of the content did raise a few questions for me and I would like to explore these in my own words, rather than it being deigned "typical standard swill from a leftist website...... so the questions I have for the trump supporters are as follows: –

– Why do you throw your support behind a convicted felon, and yes they are bona fide convictions and not from "lefties" as you tend to label them?

– How on earth can you support a man who helped incite the first attack on the US capital since 1812, to attempt a coup which could have possibly succeeded if it weren't for a VP who stood staunch against this attack. And before the answers take the "it was only a minor rally" route, then consider how many of the attackers have been jailed so far, found guilty by juries containing both GOP and Democrat supporters?

– If you are looking for a president who is basically honest (and please don't come back at me with the standard quip; all politicians lie response), because maybe they do tell the occasional untruth, but trump has been documented as having told over 30,000 lies and mistruths during and after his presidency so how do you support a man like that?

– He has cheated on his wives, paid hookers hush money to keep quiet and demeaned women in general, so has very low to non-existent morals.

– Rather than take up too many pages, this will be the last; he has denigrated an American war hero and American war veterans and mocked the disabled, so how can you support a "so-called" man like this.

Finally, trump is not respected by other world leaders because they have first-hand experience of speaking with him, that he is not the "sharpest knife in the drawer" and the CEOs from America's top companies have labelled him "dumb" and "he doesn't know what he's talking about"! Surely their word has to mean something in today's world??

You lost me in the first paragraph

The public unrest appears to be negative.

Get back to me in 5-10 years when the US will likely be a better country after all the chaos.

Strange that you don't get the "bottom line", because it is simply that, good, honest and intelligent Americans do not want this poor excuse for a human being elected as their president, and the reason is that it says so much about them if he is.

There is nasty rhetoric on both sides, but if you want to look at the root cause, look no further than trump's lies and rants against the Democrats and Harris – – truly despicable and not worthy of a presidential candidate but more worthy of a poorly educated (yes, he was not a good/intelligent student) grifter.

And I'm not sitting here in a state of angst, more in a state of total disbelief that any normal, educated person would cast a vote for this compulsive liar and despicable human being.......maybe he has cornered the "poorly educated" market, but they will soon find out that he is not their saviour, mainly because he has no idea on how to run an economy and the poorly educated and lower class will be hit hardest by his ignorance, inability and desire to please his rich buddies.

Actually, the nasty rhetoric started long before Trump, it just used to only come from the left.

Trump was the first Republican candidate to start firing it back.

Fascist -- a person who believes in or sympathizes with Fascism. A person who is dictatorial or has extreme right-wing views.

Fascism -- a governmental led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

So Fascist leaders do not take part in elections ?

No, that is not the definition of what  a fascist is .

A fascist  would remain in power and not step down .

A fascist wouldn't even have any more elections .

You posted what a fascist is and here I am explaining it to you again ,

You're right. Trump was a lousy Fascist last time. Only because he had patriots like Generals Kelly and Mattis and Milley keeping him from his worst instincts. They won't be around next time. He'll have only sycophants around next time. Though not a smart man even Trump can be dangerous because he aspires to be a dictator like his idols Putin and Kim.
