Are you still rabbiting on about the election Jingthing??? Just when I thought the liberal meltdown may have been waning....its the gift that just keeps on giving!! He isnt even in office yet....I have the popcorn ready. A lot of people are happy to see the back of the Dems...A LOT. Seems you cannot seem to come to terms with this...I am overjoyed you are having a hissy fit...OVER JOYED I said!!

keep it up.

No hissy fit.

Of course he won.

Narrowly. By a 1.5 percent margin.

He lacks a mandate for his more extreme policy proposals.

  • Noted. Lol Much of what trump wants to do has mainstream support anyway. Just because you don't think it is a mandate it was still wholesale repudiation of the nutty wokesters.

As well as a testament to how awful a candidate word-salad Harris was.

You can't know that.   Maybe that's exactly what the majority of sane Americans want.

What are you going to do about it?

Not sure what the purpose of this topic is. You need to stop blaming Trump and start blaming his voters for what's about to happen, it's not like he's made any effort to conceal his plans - and they voted him in again anyway.

Democracy is failing not because of the bad things that Trump will do, but because enough people voted for him anyway, for a variety of reasons (not least the painful process of swapping out Joe Biden last-minute).

Indeed.  Democracy is a threat to democracy.

In the American political system Donald Trump won by a clear majority of votes. Now many of those voters may be uneducated, naive or feeling left behind and they saw the Democrats as hopeless but that is still clear support for Trump and a mandate to govern.

Trump has definitely not been following the rules and you don't even know the definition of mandate.

I suppose you mean your rules.

Are you saying there is no cure for Harris, word salad, or her policies which could not differ from Joe Biden's policies despite being unburdened from what might have been?

No matter what treatment is applied to the American polity, the disease will return?

From my viewpoint the US has passed the tipping point and from now on it's all just rearranging the deck chairs till the good ship SS America slides under the water.

Seems some are incapable of understanding that Trump was elected BECAUSE he doesn't follow the rules. The rules were designed to allow an elite political class to continue their rule, but people that voted for Trump want him to blow the whole thing up and start over, IMO.

Yes, he won.

He won the presidency.

He won the swinger states.

He won the popular vote.

He won the electoral vote.

He won the house.

He won the senate.

He won our hearts.

I'm lovin' it!

"Would you like some more democracy with your mandate, ma'am?"

Screenshot_2024-10-21_at_1.56.03_PM.png?

Yes, I agree. Trump DID NOT GET a majority of the popular vote. The last I saw, it was 49% something. He did win the Electoral College by a large majority, but not the popular vote. There were more people that voted for someone else besides Trump than voted for him.

This article is very funny and only wishful thinking on the left to try to portray Trump as not having a mandate. Take a look at the map of United States voters who overwhelmingly voted for Trump. The map is a sea of Red for Trump. All three  branches of government are now Republican. The left is dilutional in thinking this is not a mandate.

trump mandate.jpg

MAGAs love to show this totally unrepresentative map which (if population were the same from state to state) would mean that Trump won the popular vote 92% to Dem's 8%.

The uncomfortable fact for MAGAs is that their winning margin is the smallest since the 1880s.

Hmm....no bigly mandate.

What I'm lovin' is that the loony liberals that hate Trump are reduced to making silly comments about the decline of democracy because a candidate was democratically elected that THEY don't like.

Seems Trump is so powerful that he is moving world events even before he is sworn in. Seems just the fact that he won has frightened Euro leaders. Perhaps Trump is the boogeyman that they checked under the bed for when they were children. Look out Trump is coming :shock1:

So you're sayin' Trump is their Baba Yaga?

Yet another example of Trump's Russian collusion!

He's a witch!

Allowing people to push a false mandate narrative without pushback is unwise.

That's why there are so many people disagreeing with the false mandate narrative that you are trying to push.

They should have stuck with Biden, screwing him over lost it for them. Meh.

Nobody screwed over Biden.  He was in on the scam to pass himself off as not having dementia.  The only people getting screwed over were the American electorate.

Well it did happen and the fact remains Trump does not enjoy majority support.for the more extremist of his announced politicies.

Majority liking him more and more. Up to 54% now. 😞

President-elect Trump is enjoying a bump in favorability since winning a second White House term earlier this month, while figures for outgoing President Biden sank to a four-year-low, according to a new poll.

An Emerson College poll found both men trending in opposite directions, with Trump's favorability jumping six points to 54% after the Nov. 5 election. Biden, on the other hand, has a 36% job approval rating.

So for example when Trump calls up the MILITARY against his own people

You have lost it.... all your points go to the trash simply because you have no idea what you are talkin about.... He said he would call up the military against the illegal aliens in the US illegally. The illegal criminals. Not citizens or migrants that are in the US legally

Reflecting the huge population of childless cat ladies in the big cities on the coasts, full of loony leftists, homeless, welfare recipients, government hacks, and voters having no IDs (heh heh). The electoral map represents the majority of rational, average voters pretty well.

Have no idea what you're trying to say.

Everyone is for deporting undocumented serious criminals.

Just being undocumented is not a serious crime.

Deporting 20 million people, tearing apart families with citizens, would devastate the economy.

Oh, but that's NOT what our leftists said about Kamala after her bump when she was installed and held forth at the Convention. 🙂 NO-o-o.

I think some of our members just need to resort to medication rather than coming here polluting the forum with silly, useless rants and whines.

I can't speak for leftists as I'm not a leftist.

Serious enough to be deported, as they have no legal right to be here and soak up taxpayer dollars that could be used for helping American citizens. They have their own countries to reside in.

No, that's a leftist talking point. They invited all these illegals to invade and now they want to keep them here, expand the welfare state, and make them Dem voters. Entire families can leave, no problem.

So for example when Trump calls up the MILITARY against his own people to help with his mass deportations or calls for national guards to cross state lines (from red to blue states in true civil war fashion) be clear, the majority never wanted things to get that extreme.

Did you say that when Clinton only got 43% of the vote? Of course he has a mandate -HE WON. What are these extremist policies ?

Here is the proof:

It's impossible not to notice that the maga pro autocracy cult sore winners have been indulging in a nauseating virtual orgy of gloating and are trying to gaslight the masses that Trump has BOTH a mandate in votes AND a mandate for his extremist policies. But that is another Trumpist BIG LIE and don't y'all ever forget it.

To be clear, Trump did win. There is no doubt.

But winning and having a mandate in votes and for extremist policies are NOT the same thing.

So take note.

Pay attention to this going forward.

So for example when Trump calls up the MILITARY against his own people to help with his mass deportations or calls for national guards to cross state lines (from red to blue states in true civil war fashion) be clear, the majority never wanted things to get that extreme.

Yes Trump did win.

Biden had no mandate to allow millions of illegals into the country, yet he did so. Biden had no mandate to attack the oil industry, yet he did so. Did they even have a mandate for a proxy war in Ukraine or to support the israelis? I don't believe they had a referendum on that.

In the US version of democracy, the government doesn't need a mandate to do whatever it wants.

Wny not agree to disagree with the 77 million who voted for Trump and elected him prez--and go away, find something useful to do or post about. Movies, food--you have other topics sometimes. And BTW
