  • A stupid, ignorant generalisation.  There are plenty of unfit and abusive hetro couples.  Such a couple is far worse for a child than a loving same sex couple.

Your comment suggests that a person’s sexuality is learned behaviour, it definitely is not.

I know homosexuality is certainly genetically related. I'll believe it's environmentally related when the science on it is done. Not holding my breath!

Pay me enough and I might consider trying to educate you.

You don't have to work for me, you wouldn't pass the selection process to start with.

Just clarify your homophobic statements.

From a teenager onwards I disobeyed my father on a regular basis, he tried to stop me playing football on a Sunday, tried to stop me going to the cinema because of his stupid beliefs. He never laid a hand or even threatened me over the age of 12. He was about 40 when I was born and I was bigger than him.

There was nothing for me to learn from my father, just the opposite. He just could not control me.

I had 5 brothers and a sister, cousins aunts and uncles and every single one of them was normal.

I remember years ago it was said that one guy out of twenty was homosexual. Are the odds the same today?

There is an easier solution. I put you on my ignore list and I won't see any of your comments anymore. Win/Win.

Just looking at famous gay people who have children.  In no particular order:

Ricky Martin

Elton John

Matt Bohmer

Neil Patrick Harris

Tan France

BD Wong

Cynthia Nixon

Jodie Foster

Tom Daley

Lance Bass

Perez Hilton

Wanda Sykes

Pete Buttigieg

I would think that any child of any of these people would be most fortunate.

Edit:  Just to add:

Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Anderson Cooper

Then there are quite a few gay people who have kids in a "normal" marriage but are still in the closet because of the homophobic behavior of people.

What happens when a farang bloke marries a thai bloke?

Who has to show the 400k or will that be a thing of the past?

They should but sadly there are loads of stupid parents.

Ones sexuality can't be taught, you are, or you aren't. It can only be oppressed by idiots.

You will when somebody is quoting me, rofl. So still no links to support your homophobic statements.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. There you have it: One short paragraph telling all one needs to know re why what where and how one was born (or "becomes") gay or hetero, though said idiots decide to keep their blinders on in order to justify their oppresion of the others.

Save me precious time which I don't have trying to argue with said idiots (and risking suspension for not "convening to forum guidelines")

In fact, statistics show that same-sex couples suffer approximately DOUBLE the amount of abusiveness in their relationships than heterosexual couples.

Normally I'd say, do your own research. But since responded so rudely, and apparently don't believe it and refuse to do your own research, let alone recognize what is already broadly known to the public without needing to have done any research or have any kind of special knowledge... I thought I'd attempt to enlighten you. Hopefully you have enough connectivity in your cave to get back online and read this.

The National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) 2010 Summary Report (Produced from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – United States) provides detailed prevalence rates for intimate partner violence (IPV) across genders.

Regarding heterosexual partners, the report indicates that: 1 in 4 women (25%) have experienced severe physical violence by an intimate partner during their lifetime. 1 in 10 men (10%) have also experienced severe physical violence by an intimate partner.

Regarding Lesbian partners, 43.8% of lesbian women experience IPV, approximately double that of heterosexual women.

Regarding Gay Men, 26% of gay men report experiencing IPV in their partnerships, approximately 2.5 times higher than heterosexual men.

Then there’s the statistic that 61.1% of bisexual women experience IPV. It’s one of the highest risk groups according to the NISVS.

Also, research conducted by the Williams Institute and others supports these findings.
Later updates in the following decade to the NISVS reaffirm these findings and provide more nuanced data.

If you want more detailed data, DYOR.

Extensive research indicates that children raised by same-sex couples exhibit health and well-being outcomes comparable to those raised by opposite-sex couples. A 2010 meta-analysis of 33 studies found no significant differences in behavioral, educational, emotional, or social outcomes between these groups of children.

https://www.businessinsider.in/The-scientific-truth-about-kids-who-grow-up-with-same-sex-parents/articleshow/47558855.cms

Similarly, a 2015 study concluded that children with same-sex parents are as socially well-adjusted as their peers with different-sex parents.

https://www.healthday.com/healthday-tv/sexual-health/kids-with-same-sex-parents-are-socially-well-adjusted-study-finds-2657393641.html

Moreover, a 2024 report analyzing two decades of data found that children in same-sex households fare just as well in academic performance, psychological health, and social well-being as those with heterosexual parents.

These findings are supported by major professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, which states that lesbian and gay parents are as capable as heterosexual parents, and their children are as psychologically healthy and well-adjusted.

Will this change your mind? Unlikely. But, the science is clear.

That is very informative and interesting. Personally I see no reason why a same sex couple can’t do an equally as good a job as a heterosexual couple and that seems to back up my feelings. I should add that I state that as an unmarried heterosexual man and have no horse in the race.

OMG that is hilarious. "Taught" can be understood in different ways. I don't imagine you're meaning "taught", as in a classroom, since the context of your comment was related to the example/influence of parents. So, in this vein, I'll go with a reasonable synonym for the context - "influenced". I've already shown enough research for another member on here... I'm not gonna waste more of my time to show the studies showing how ridiculous your claim is. I don't mean anything personal. I'm not saying you as a person are ridiculous. The claim is ridiculous. It is utterly unfounded and research proves what most people already know by common sense. Sexuality is influenced and formed by NUMEROUS factors. There are endless studies.
Ok... I highly doubt you will be satisfied with my statements and won't do your own research. So, I'll succumb and provide a few studies that you can Google and read. Or you can just admit that such a ridiculous assertion cannot be sustained without the most amazing sort of reality twisting.

I interpret "full parity with heterosexual couples in establishing and nurturing families" in the OP to mean that they will indeed be allowed to legally adopt children, who will then not have "a father and a mother", the commonly used Thai term for "parents", but two fathers or two mothers.

"informed comments" is an interesting term but it depends a lot on how it is interpreted.

In this topic, I have seen a member present his view with references to scientific publications accompanied by relevant links. This is, in my view, an informed comment, acknowledged by the readers as such regardless whether or not they share the opinions or conclusions of the linked published articles.
