John, a 55-year-old Danish man, shares his grim experiences from a Thai prison, where he is serving a sentence of over five years for drug charges, urging others to heed his warning.

If this was your first trip to Asia I can understand you a little bit not much though, you could have done some research about possesion of drugs and jailtime! Why the heck did you do it?? lack of money, then you should have worked a bit longer so you could have money for your holiday without spending years in prison. No symphaty for you, sorry.

I sense a Go Fund Me coming soon.  Conveniently left out of the article was this translated from a Danish story  -  "He had previously been convicted in Denmark for drugs."

Everyone knows drugs will get someone into deep <deleted> in SE Asia.

totally agree, and if you haven't figured out life by the time you hit the fifties, it might never happen.

This guy was previously convicted for drugs offences in Denmark and is now doing time for drugs offences in LOS.  Bit of a slow learner?

Slow learner is a mild remark. Being in the fifties he might never learn, or only the hard way!

The 55-year-old Danish man should have done his research before committing the crime.

Get involved with drugs in any way, shape or form and you deserve all you get.

So, if I understand the situation correctly, the imprisoned Dane would be transferred to a Danish prison if he could come up with 220,000 baht? How exactly does that work?

Go Fund Me. :cheesy:

That is a luxurious cell , normally the middle bit would be full of people sleeping and they take turns in sleeping and laying down

Still totally inhumane. No country could claim to be civilised with such prison conditions.

Agree with the real photos submitted not the propaganda one attached to the article. Agree also it's a tiny amount. Maybe he didn't have enough money to pay off the BIB (more than once?) and the judge. Mate from sometime back got done with an ounce of dope. BIB wanted Bt60,000. Mate only had Bt20,000 in the account he showed them (BIB took him to the ATM). BIB said ok 20K. Mate said ok but can I have half of my stash back? BIB said ok. True story. Dodgy as fk this country.

Can only imagine the farting, burping, and snoring and how do you get up to go to the toilet, would be an absolute nightmare.

The smell and the noise must be horrendous. And how many toilets?

Obviously the Danish education system has failed this person.

Where's all the gym teachers teaching health? 😄

John recounts daily struggles in a cramped cell shared with around 60 inmates, the constant noise of Thai TV shows, and the suffocating monotony of prison life, all of which have taken a toll on his well-being.

What does he expect for breaking the law in Thailand, "the Bridge" on Netflix?

We don't need your advice, we read the penalties when we came here.

He knew the risk now he pays the price. They will be another one doing the same tomorrow
