At least for now, fiscal hard-right GOP Rep. 'Chip' Roy of Texas.

No. Chip Roy is a result of a weak speaker and party leadership.

and pass a pork filled, corrupt disaster of a CR that Trump was forced to accept.

Biden was forced to accept it.

Will work out for Trump in the end, as planned.

Didn't raise the debt ceiling?

Gosh, guess we'll just have to cut spending.

Bigly!

Or raise taxes.

Trumps got it going, well under control....strict control. Biden, NOPE, he's done, mentally unfit to even play bingo at the old folks home.

Suture! Trump has everything under control! 🤣

Government shutdown is averted just after deadline as Congress rejects Trump’s debt limit demands

"Facing a government shutdown deadline, the Senate rushed through final passage early Saturday of a bipartisan plan that would temporarily fund federal operations and disaster aid, dropping President-elect Donald Trump’s demands for a debt limit increase into the new year."

"So is this a Republican bill or a Democrat bill?” scoffed Musk on social media ahead of the vote." 😆

Taking it from over 1500 pages, down to 118 pages.  But the MSM claims most of the provisions are still there...

The 118-page bill contains most of the provisions that were put in place in the bipartisan bill that was agreed to on Wednesday before it was killed after Musk criticized Republicans who supported it.

Perhaps Trump, with Musk's help, just sent a message "no more holding the gub'ment hostage with thousands of pages of your pork"?

GOP has controlled the house for 4 years already. They have had 4 years to pass an actual budget but couldn't whip (pressure) the votes the entire time, and could barely pass a CR multiple times. What makes you think that this pattern will change now?

Again, you keep talking in anachronisms.

The GOP is currently 2 separate parties. The fact that they have an 'R' next to their names is merely incidental at this point.

The RINO Republicans are a completely different animal from the MAGA Republicans. The RINOs and the Democrats together make up the deep state Uniparty. Until you understand this, you can't possibly hope to understand what is happening in Washington.

Until all the RINOs are identified and eliminated through primaries, talking about the Republicans as if they were a monolithic entity makes no sense. Hopefully, we may get an actual Republican party made up entirely of MAGA sovereigntists in 2026. Until then, you're correct. Nothing is going to change. The deep state Uniparty (Democrats + RINOs) will continue to destroy America.

Biden wasn't negotiating this, and everyone knows it. Trump was the one forced to capitulate and accept defeat.

Ummmmm..............who is (p)resident and will sign the bill?

That would be lame duck Biden.

Trump is just a private citizen, presumptive president elect, although not official until the electoral college votes are certified in January.

And to blow all your influence on a 3 month budget extension seem ill thought out to say the least.

IMO Musk doesn't think a lot about what he says. Eg the submarines for a cave rescue in Thailand fiasco. Anyone with a functioning brain cell knew it wouldn't work, but he got all bitter and twisted and lashed out with inappropriate descriptions of the British guy. He probably thinks having loadsacash makes him right on everything.

Democrats seem to have disappeared. So who is determining things?

Not Joe Biden.

I also rather suspect that he is not really interested in the nitty gritty of governing, preferring the "big ticket" stuff which puts him in the limelight.

He put it pretty plainly during the 2016 campaign: the vice president will take care of the paperwork while he travels the country making America great again.  No one explained to him that veep is a quasi-ceremonial thumb-up-the-butt job.

I wonder why Ol' Joe didn't step forward on cutting cancer research, it's been one of his pet issues.
