Its only a dark time for the hate ridden racist misogynist Socialists and their DEI, BLM, SWP and LBTCRTEWQMM++  allies. All of us normal Americans are feeling great, unburdened by what has been!

“All of us normal Americans “?

Ha ha ha.

Pray tell oh normal one: what’s your slant on the latest far right act of terrorism in Magdeburg Germany?

On subject: I lived in Chiang Mai 20 years ago and ex president Carter and his wife used to turn up to work on a housing project for low/no income families. A great man.

Cant see Trump being so selfless.

he was the only president I would have liked to have as a neighbor

  • He was a decent human being and the second worst President after Biden. RIP Jimmy

Adding to the list, the misandrists, the G's, the additional Q (questioning or queer), the 2S, the two A's, the I's and the P's. Only a matter of time until Marxists extend the alphabet to accommodate their perversions. After all, nothing is actually real.

Apologies to all queer and/or questioning Attack Helicopters and unicorns. :coffee1:

Anything to offer on the passing of Jimmy Carter? No?

I thought not.

Go hug yourself, you know you want to.

This OP is NOT about any other President than the late President Carter!

RIP!

The OP should of.kept the dark history garbage out of it.

They only reason anyone would follow around a yapping dog like you would be because of the obnoxious trail you leave behind on most posts for them to defecate on!

I love confused emojis. They taste just like liberal tears.

I simply adore those that are fascinated by emojis. So shallow and inarticulate.

Carter was possibly too decent a person for the presidency. The job involves telling people what they want to hear, prevarication, and a bit of mongrel.

Not to worry, the incumbent has all those attributes in full measure. Vindictive is a bonus.

RIP.

Yes, if I remember correctly, the mortgage rate I got at the time was around 14%. Shame there appears to be so many who choose not to remember or are incapable of remembering history.

Me, me, me... it's all about me, isn't it?

Or, you could have simply chosen to ignore it.

I was expecting Trump to say something outrageous but instead he said this about Jimmy's passing:
“The challenges Jimmy faced as President came at a pivotal time for our country and he did everything in his power to improve the lives of all Americans. For that, we all owe him a debt of gratitude,”

Y'all really think Donald wrote that? Really?

Doesn't really matter. It was very un donald like, but published in his name.

And how much interest you got on your savings deposit at the same time? Seems you don't remember that

A conservative with a savings account in the late seventies?

You jest.

Just in case you missed it.

Hope this helps.

Rather harsh but I actually do recall as a liberal democrat when he won and took over D.C. with his grits revolution that he was considered quite right wing for a democrat.

However, comparing him to Trump is a bridge too far in trashing him.

Trump is in a LOW class of his own.

Also to add, I'm not super familiar with Georgia politics back then, but it is the DEEP SOUTH, and I'm sure back then getting the "redneck" vote was a must do to have any chance to win.

The redneck vote?

Do you recall George Wallace and his baseball bats?

I seem to recall that I sent a dollar to George Wallace, following up on his offer to send baseball bats to supporters, for a dollar.

As you can see, both Carter and Wallace were "First Gentlemen" of the deep south.

Wallace turned out to be far less radical than he appeared to be, at first.

I miss those good ole days, with Jim Crow.

Almost NOBODY was PC, back then.

Great times!!!!

Awkward? Biden voted for Trump

He did?  How could you know that?

Most can't. Must be the most popular one on their ignore list.

As I posted, I was an early Carter supporter and a Carter delegate to my state Democratic convention. But his performance in office turned out to be disastrous. And the one thing I see omitted from the discussion is Carter's support for the Khmer Rouge. Yes, while he was undercutting the Shah of Iran, he was supporting Pol Pot. In later years he also had good things to say about Hamas. Carter seems to have had a weakness for Islamism.  ("One surprise was his support for the Khmer Rouge forces in Cambodia fighting against Vietnam's invasion, despite its terrible human rights record.[80]").

His one term in office wasn't great.

The country learned about grits and gas lines.

After his term, he became a humanitarian icon.

What's not to love about Jimmy Carter? What a sweetheart. Showing in his deeds the good side of Christianity as opposed to the current dominant toxic hate filled fundamentalists.

He said he had stayed alive to vote one last time for Harris to try to beat the incoming autocratic demagogue president elect Trump in his beloved swing state of Georgia. Character-wise Trump and Carter are polar opposites.

So the timing of his death now is no surprise. He had been in hospice care since February.

Will Biden and Trump both show up at his funeral together? Awkward.

I'm rather surprised you like him., due to his controversial book.

He was a great man.

Carter was nothing like Wallace.

Sure I know Wallace.

I did a video project covering one of his campaign rallies.

Yeah for a while that was a progressive position to take, but without knowing the details it's hard to believe Carter maintained that support after learning about the Khmer Rouge atrocities.

Heck, my mother sang at a school in America where The Internationale was sung daily back when supporting the Soviet communists was considered an idealistic humanistic position.

I reckon many Trumpists are going to be similarly embarrassed later when they fully see what their fascist leader actually does with so much power.

Right, again!

Only people are black and white.

This is the main crux of the race issue.

Just joking with you, JT.

In fact, back in the day, while in HS.....

We all joked about sending him a dollar to buy his bats.

Or, did you REALLY think I was a redneck?

Thank again.

That must be the most biased "article" I have read in a week. Jimmy Carter was a failure as POTUS and he should have stuck to peanut farming. With the exception of Biden and Clinton he must be the second worst President in the last 50 years. Ask the hostages.

Carter will receive a state funeral (in D.C., Atlanta, and Plains) and lie in state at the Capitol Rotunda.

The Carter family has invited President Biden to give a eulogy (at the National Cathedral).

There will be a national day of mourning January 9.

All government agencies and the stock market will be closed.
