Some might argue that we have seen all we need to see about this multiple murder enquiry, along with The Yorkshire Ripper !, but this new 3 part mini series promises to provide some recently discovered police recordings and first- person accounts.

Agree! Probably not much further insight to be gained by this. If anyone wants some further insight, I highly recommend the book 'The Jigsaw Man' by the criminal psychologist Paul Britton. He advised the police on this case and the Jamie Bulger one.

I’m watching it now, the police tapes talking to Fred and the clandestine audio and video of Rose are interesting.

Fred’s calm and matter of fact attitude when admitting to the various murders is quite amazing.

Mostly, I think the movies and series Apple puts out are somehow lacking. They're well made and extremely polished, for sure, but that's what makes them less than they could be. If that makes any sense.

Quite entertaining.

First episode of Code of Silence did not disappoint. I never realised before that ITVX has so many other excellent box sets.

The release of Netflix’s drama Adolescence sparked a surge in misogynistic, racist and anti-semitic activity on the world’s biggest incel forum, new research has found.

The hugely popular show followed the fictional case of a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a girl from his class. It delved into the influence of toxic material online, 

specifically the misogynistic incel movement.

Analysis from the Centre for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) reveals the programme prompted a burst of activity on the main online meeting spot for self-described incels – who are often young, heterosexual men who despise women.

 

He said: “I don’t think the programme makers thought this but people say we should show this in every school. What this [online response] shows is that it’s not going to have the impact that’s desired on the people that are most in need of help.

Those [incels] have reacted aggressively and angrily to it.”

Just finished watching Andor (S01,02), Bit slow and the main character doesn't know when he go into a Bathroom to do a number 1 or a number 2. Not even 1 smile in those 24 eps.

I managed to watch it because I am really fond of the SF future scerery.

For all those who watched and enjoyed Season One:

Nine Perfect Strangers (TV Series 2021– )   Season Two first two episodes has just dropped.

Something a bit different — I am watching Castle Impossible (TV Series 2025) - IMDb 7.8/10.

It’s an interesting series about a Californian couple who unexpectedly inherit a crumbling Louis XIII-era château in France. Now they’re diving headfirst into restoring it—equal parts drama, charm, and chaos. Definitely worth a look if you enjoy renovation stories with a cultural twist!

I am still trawling through older movies to find any gems that I'd missed or indeed any gems that I can't remember anything about after my accident!

 

I came across two which I watched over the previous two evenings and thoroughly enjoyed them: – the first being, "The Untouchables" with a stellar cast which included Sean Connery, Kevin Costner and Robert De Niro, amongst others.

 

The second one was, "Darkest Hour" and the standout actor in this was Gary Oldman and it's not surprising that he won an Oscar for his fantastic performance as Winston Churchill, absolutely mind blowing, and I have to confess that I was very moved when I heard his speech (the famous one) and it stirred patriotic feelings for my birthplace.

Whilst on the subject of movies and TV shows, a friend gave me a pair of Bluetooth headphones to try, mainly because my JBL sound bar is probably too good for my apartment and I worry about the noise being heard in other apartments.

 

So amongst all of the movie buffs here, has anyone got the inside running on a good pair of Bluetooth headphones which are not too expensive?
