It's a Thai boat carrying British tourists, being controlled irresponsibly and recklessly by a Thai.

Did you expect something els?

The car licence is already a crime, not to mention a boating licence at all.

Brake failure? :whistling:

.... and/or safety vest failure.

I can just hear the owner now "Yes 20% of the passengers had no life vests, but the seats for the other 80% are under repair so the life vests were in the storeroom on land, so it's all OK!

No this is just another one of AN failures, adding the wrong picture to the wrong thread.

No, it's a story from TheThaiger, the picture is on their site.

Does this THAI driver have any license????. (I mean a proper one)

I don't know what it is like here but in the USA you really have to know your stuff and have countless recorded and verified hours on a water vessel. The test is 3 parts and each one hour long. When I got my 100 ton Masters license in Miami, I saw many "Salty Dogs" not pass the test.

This idiot was definitely NO CAPTAIN!  He needs to be banned from operating any sort of vessel.

Thaiger is AN, you didn't know that yet? And both the thread of the falling tree and the crashing boat have the exact same picture.

How would that be possible?

I highly doubt AN has much say at TheThaiger, they just regurgitate what was posted on TheThaiger.

Yes, it's a dangerous country, and that's before meeting the local loons  :shock1:

LOL.  Well past experience most certainly can predict future results.

Do you think they should change to display title?

No, but we think you should read before comment. Seems fair to you?

Had a job to see the injured

Anchor failure, possibly 😅😅😅

Driver failure, quite obviously.

Speedboat hits trees,

very much not what should happen, ever.

Island hopping adventure.

Were they able to save all the bottles of Tanqueray, I mean Khao Lao?🤦

This is the same British tourist group that survived a tree falling on their bus.

Where does it say the same tourist group were in both the bus and boat accidents? Not even the DM which is not the most reliable rag says that in the story?

What, with airlines reducing carryon weight, people are travelling light. Can't blame them. :whistling:

Why was no one blowing a whistle as they took the injured off the boat in the second video?

it’s not a crash in thailand without someone blowing a whistle

I hope that the several posters on this thread who mentioned brake failure or anything to do with 'brakes' never get to pilot a speedboat, or any boat for that matter.

Let's really hope that their comments are tongue in cheek.

Did you not see the photos?  It was the same chest in both!  I may be mistaken on some details, but I never forget a booby.

I went yesterday after two days of running around to get my drivers license.  I was where you have to show you can place your foot to the brake pedal after you see a light going from green to red.  Thai males had a hard time grasping the concept.  Another test was lining up one stick with another stick.  One guy got hollered at for just playing with the machine instead of lining up the sticks.  LOL

Why is there a photo of the girl who was injured when a tree fell on their minibus?

Perhaps she went on the speedboat trip as well as the minibus trip.

Licensing in Thailand is a total joke, as is most of the safety training, especially for marine and offshore.

Anyone know what the requirements for a boat pilot licence are in Thailand?

I have my Liberian OIM and Barge licence, and that wasn't easy, had to do about 10 different courses, exams etc. to get it.
