Supreme Court Petitioned to Return Thaksin to Jail Amid Allegations

In a dramatic turn of events, former Democrat MP Charnchai Issarasenarak has officially petitioned the Supreme Court to consider sending Thaksin Shinawatra back to prison. Efforts are also sought to investigate alleged irregularities in his release facilitated by the Corrections Department.

Allegedly, he was granted a six-month hospital stay at Police Hospital instead of fulfilling his sentence in Bangkok Remand Prison. This arrangement reportedly exploited legal ambiguities to extend undue privileges, potentially undermining the judiciary’s authority.

Charnchai contends that the Corrections Department’s actions, in conjunction with certain executive officers, amounted to government misconduct by facilitating Thaksin’s avoidance of jail through purported health concerns.

 

Upon supposed medical necessity, Thaksin’s stay at the hospital reportedly coincided with his release on parole, sanctioned by Justice Minister and Prachachart leader Thavi Sodsong last year.

Obviously, it's more than unlikely that the criminal will every go to jail again. If he should go to jail, I am sure he will find a doctor who will testify that he is a very sick man...

 

The system should be easy. Jail is jail and hospital is hospital. If any inmate needs a week in hospital, fine. Then add a week to the time he has to stay in jail. Problem solved.

How is 'Jumping Bail', after sentencing, awaiting trial for his other serious 20 or so legitimate charges, buying fake Citizenship and passports from Nicaragua and Montenegro, after his Thai Passport was cancelled to fly around the world, wheeling and dealing, while warrants International and local were put out, have the Audacity to pat himself on the back, while schmoozing with all of the global crooks who use Dubai as a base, then say he was only on a 'self-imposed exile'?? In addition to the original charges for which he jumped bail, what about the act of jumping bail and evading justice all this time ???? A common folk would have served additional time for jumping bail in addition to the original sentence… 🤣🤣 so sad to see a 2 tier justice system .. is there no more integrity in the Thai bar n bench…..? In any event, if this is the legal precedent, then why should anyone stop rice peddler Yingluck as well as the Red Bull speedster from doing the same ? Hmmm🤣🤣

If it ever looked like the supreme court would vote against him, he would be given a tip-off so he could slip out the back door back to Dubai...

Totally agree.  Maybe these Petitions should be accompanied by a 250,000 Bt Deposit. If the Petition fails, the deposit then goes to charity. That "might" stop some of the glory seekers.

It's the same as always... Considering imprisoning him again is intended to suggest that the courts work independently, democratically, critically and make no distinction between rich and poor.
