A Thai transgender influencer with nearly 30,000 followers on social media has been arrested for operating a secret group distributing explicit content. The 22 year old suspect reportedly confessed to running the scheme for two years, raking in tens of thousands of baht per month.

Police Lieutenant General Trirong Phiwpaen, Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), revealed details of the arrest carried out by a specialised task force. The operation, led by Police Colonel Sarayut Junnawat and Pol. Col. Torsak Panklinput, followed an investigation into explicit material shared through a locked account on the X platform.

According to police, Chakraphat promoted sample clips on her account and invited followers to join a private group for a fee of 260 baht. Members were granted access to continuous streams of explicit content. Police discovered over 300 paying subscribers and tracked the suspect through digital evidence.

Armed with an arrest warrant issued by the Nonthaburi Provincial Court, officers apprehended Chakraphat yesterday, January 23, in a hotel parking lot in Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi province. During interrogation, the transwoman admitted to posting the clips and managing the subscription-based account. She also claimed that gambling networks had approached her to promote illegal stock trading links, which she declined.

“This person used her online influence to profit from illegal activities. We are committed to cracking down on such offences.”

Chakraphat now faces charges under Thailand’s Computer Crimes Act for uploading obscene material and operating a trade for explicit content. The transgender woman has been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings, reported KhaoSod.

Police are warning the public to remain vigilant against similar schemes flourishing on social media platforms.

Wow! What a news! Forget about tens of thousands (probably 100s) making their "easy living" on webcam platforms, OF and similar online services.

btw, there's big data-center at Pak Ret. What a coincidence!

At least it kept him off the streets selling services, which seems to continue although technically illegal.

This is yet another example of the RTP wasting time. For the public good get after murderers, thieves and rapists.

Once again NOT a public nuisance nor legal violation that requires open and unrestricted access, ie., to the public.

Read the law that relates to PUBLIC harm. These Influencers are not for example posting openly on X, Facebook or LINE.

Police seem more focused on (and disturbed compared to their own meager incomes?) the significant income derived from such Private activities (ie., not related to illegal gambling specified by law) and which in itself is not a public activity. Albeit, by its nature of privacy, such influencers may not be paying Thai income taxes that is required by Thai law regardless of the secrecy of their activities.

How was this person hurting anyone?

Reminder: These were adults who paid 260B to see this.

Big Whoop. 😘

Cracking down is part of the problem, you need to crack up in this case🤔

I wonder why preventing such 'offences' is such a big priority for the powers that be? From my point of view, there are far more pressing matters for the Police to spend everyone's tax dollars on if they are to actually perform the role of serving and protecting people.

I'm guessing somebody far up the food chain who is so far removed from reality that they actualy think they are protecting the image and morals of the Kingdom.

After the higher ups had the audacity to pronounce Pataya free of prostitution after a staged walk down the street a couple of years ago, I doubt they have any idea of how ridiculous this kind rhetoric sounds.

Maybe he was arrested because he didn't run and volunteer the info to the tax office like many scared farang on this forum do???

if she / he is only selling her / his good and no minors, and making a living instead of stealing tourists, what is the problem ?

most cases of abuse or worse, you read, police do nothing

are they really pimps that need their cut to allow it ?

This is the low hainging fruit that the RTP and teh government can use to show those that are older living inthe country that they are looking out for them adn arresting people.  What Thaksin is missing is 10,000 baht a month taxed would be easy money and help.  Instead of making this illegal and underground they need to bring it out and tax it.

Same thing with prostitution.  Unless the ladyboys upset people with fighting the oly time you hear about the girls in Pat or anywhere is whenthe poice after letting everyone know goon their search and find nothing.

Did you noit know that according to police all those girls by Hooters and across from the entertainment are are just waiting for taxis

And bless you for your charming naivete thinking that because one investigation is reported all others must be on hold.

As you surely well know the RTP tend to prioritise pecuniarily advantageous investigations.
