It's true China has 12 nuclear-powered submarines. However, these cannot project power the way an aircraft carrier can.

 

China has three conventional aircraft carriers, dependent on refuelling at friendly ports. The USA has 11 nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, which do not need refuelling for years.

Maybe you have not noticed aircraft carriers are BIG. They usually store enough food and fuel to last for 3-6 months at sea.

Aircraft carriers do not sail alone. They have a flotilla of accompanying ships with the sole purpose of protecting them.

 

Admittedly drone warfare in Ukraine has many military strategists hastily revising some assumptions.
