Popular Post webfact Posted Sunday at 10:30 PM Popular Post Posted Sunday at 10:30 PM File photo courtesy: Matichon Thaksin Shinawatra, the de facto leader of the Pheu Thai party, has announced that the much-anticipated return of his sister, former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, to Thailand during the Songkran festival is currently uncertain. Speaking with Naewna newspaper on 9th February, Thaksin emphasised that her comeback depends on the "appropriateness" of the timing and situation. When queried about the specific barriers affecting her return, Thaksin indicated that there are numerous factors at play, without delving into exact details. Despite these hurdles, he mentioned that Yingluck had a strong desire to return, even expressing a wish to fly back as recently as yesterday. Yingluck has been living abroad for over six years, evading a sentence handed down after her government was unseated by a military coup in 2014. Her conviction stems from charges of duty negligence related to a mishandled rice subsidy programme, resulting in a five-year prison sentence. The political and personal implications of her potential return are complex, involving legal challenges and broader political ramifications within Thailand. Thaksin's statement reflects the cautious approach the family is adopting as they navigate these intricacies. As of now, Yingluck's return remains under consideration, and no definitive plans have been set. The delicate balance of political atmosphere and legal considerations will likely influence any future decisions regarding her re-entry into Thai public life, reported Thai Newsroom. -- 2025-02-10 1 1 8

Does she have to apply for a visa and that takes too long? No! She fears jail, like all criminals. It's sad when articles like this are written in a way as if we all should be sad that the beloved Yingluck is not here. How about writing an article that one criminal, who fled the country for many years, and then evaded jail with a dubious hospital stay, talks about another criminal who run away from jail? Thailand should jail criminals, all of them. That would be a nice start. 3 1 4 12

Popular Post Artisi Posted Monday at 01:39 AM Popular Post Posted Monday at 01:39 AM At least she needs a bit of consideration as she was only a clone for the criminal who is now running the country via another family clone. It really highlights his complete lack of morals and concern for his family. 3 1 2 1 5

No doubt, as with other law evaders, he'll reappear stepping out of his private jet the day after if not apprehended earlier. 1

Or do you think she should not be held accountable because she followed the orders from her criminal brother? She didn't follow the laws. Guilty as charged. 1 1 1

Popular Post spidermike007 Posted Monday at 05:31 AM Popular Post Posted Monday at 05:31 AM Don't come right now wait a little bit, I think I have this about 95% under control but there just seem to be a few stubborn people who have a progressive nature, and they seem to want me to be punished, for what I don't know. So it's probably best if you wait a little bit until I have them all cowering and behaving like total sycophants. Remind you of anyone else across the vast sea? 1 1 3 1

Why not lock up all the generals who committed treason against the state by committing illegal military coups. If a coup is illegal, then any punishment resulting from the illegal coup must be illegal too? 1 1 1 1 1

Will the Red Bull guy be allowed to come back and then be put in charge of the Highway Safety Department? (Asking for a friend) 1 2

PETERTHEEATER Posted Monday at 06:41 AM Posted Monday at 06:41 AM I assume she had a Diplomatic Thai Passport at the time of her departure and that would have been revoked and renewal not possible through a Thai Embassy. What her visa status is in the UK and on what PP I don't know. Maybe she is dual Thai/Uk citizen? I am deeply concerned she will be rejected at the airport check-in desk or Immigation due to lack of documentation if she tries to return on a commercial flight.😋 1
