Wise Transfers Successful
9 seconds is truly exceptional and amazing. My transfers have lately been within an hour. They'd probably be faster if the funds were already on account at Wise rather than awaiting a wire transfer from Citibank, still. Often I receive a notification from K-Bank that the funds have been received and are available even before Wise itself updates the app as having received funds let alone dispatched tgem. To other countries, typically for me, Bangladesh, funds are available there the following evening, which is still amazing as in the bad old days wire transfers from Citi would take up to 2 weeks, entirely in limbo with absolutely no tracking and a terrible FOREX rate. -

£1 billion a month: Rising Benefit Claims by Foreign Nationals Fuel Political Tensions
Astound us all with your brilliance Is this this the law that will see Illegal Gommegrants returned to a safe Country ? Are these the same Countries that Labour howled incessantly that " Those Countries are under no obligation to take back " Therefore we can safely assume, that. 1. The Law is a complete waste of time and energy. 2 The Illegal Gimmegrants will ignore it anyway. Only mentalists cannot see that a deterrent is needed. -

Report Philippines Completes Key Runway on Pag-asa Amid Tensions with China
Picture courtesy of Manila Bulletin The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has announced the completion of a pivotal runway extension on Pag-asa (Thitu) Island in the contested West Philippine Sea. This development is part of broader infrastructure projects designed to bolster the island's accessibility and strategic importance. "Our runway is 100% complete. We are now finalising the surrounding ancillaries, aiming for completion within the year," AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla stated. The newly completed three-kilometre runway enhances the island's capability to accommodate larger aircraft, significantly improving its connectivity for military operations and potential civilian activities. This strategic move comes amid lingering tensions marked by the presence of Chinese vessels near the island. It was during a maritime domain awareness (MDA) flight, on June 3, that the Philippine Air Force’s C-130 aircraft received a radio challenge from China, underscoring the region's ongoing geopolitical sensitivities. Pag-asa Island, approximately 270 nautical miles west of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan, is the largest among the nine disputed features occupied by the Philippines in the Kalayaan Island Group. The AFP's efforts here reflect the government's commitment to asserting its territorial claims and enhancing defense capabilities. In conjunction with the runway project, the Department of National Defense (DND) is nearing the completion of a hangar and control tower on the island. These facilities will be essential for managing aircraft operations efficiently, ensuring the smooth arrival and departure of planes. Highlighting the island's developmental focus, AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., alongside House Speaker Martin Romualdez, recently visited Pag-asa. During their visit, Romualdez confirmed that the Lower House had allocated P3 billion for infrastructure projects on the island. These initiatives include airport reclamation, building a naval port, and creating a fishing sanctuary, all aimed at reinforcing the Philippines' presence and viability in the region. As the Philippines approaches its 127th Independence Day, the completion of the runway not only strengthens national pride but also strategically showcases its steadfast resilience amid external maritime challenges.
