Wise, very wisely, will only send out a debit to your registered UK address. Which they would reasonably assume to be a secure address.

You, very unwisely had yours mailed to an address that obviously what not secure. And then to compound your error you made the same mistake again. Tut tut!

I'd say that you were very lucky that Wise saw fit to reimburse not just once, but twice!

It was my UK registered address, also registered with my UK GP and electoral register...

I was not to know that the hotel manager was a thieving git.  Prior to posting the second card to me Wise assured me that they would send it inactivated.  Which they did not!

Yes, I just completed my "Proof of Life" witnessed by my Thai lawyer. Whether the DWP check on false claims of UK residency to obtain the annual inflationary increases is another matter. The witness to the "Proof of Life" could lie on your behalf, but may face criminal proceedings too. Certainly the UK Government is looking to eliminate benefit fraud, given the dire state of the public finances.

What cobblers are you talking about?  I'm fully aware that the UK state pension is frozen if I remain in Thailand, Laos etc. Right now, with my online teaching, my income will be about $2,500 per month, which is perfectly adequate (more than adequate) for a single person.  When I finally end my online teaching, I can simply move to The Philippines, where my state pension is not frozen.

But not entirely free, Pol needed

After that, I gave up getting the card!  My Wise bank account works fine, but I have no idea why they send out unlocked physical cards.

When I got my card the procedure was to make a cash withdrawal at an ATM before the card could be used for anything else.

Bit surprised they changed from that.

for starters you do not know what you are talking about.  There are regulations/rules that obv you are ?ignorant of.   1 is impossible to defraud your own pension 2 nothing can be done to pensioner recieving unfrozen in frozen land, read of regulations, there are rules set, non sanctionable for starters, its there read them.  Nobody worldwide has ever been sanctioned for receipt of unfrozen......jealousy,pure jealousy,  and as for me aa too 110 smackers tax free aweek as well as unfrozen, yes spoken to dwp   from 4 weeks to 13 weeks now advised 2 years in every 3,but waste of time asking, they do not/not bothered, waste of time thinking passport ,immigration takes note         only time a freezing occurs is when you tell them...did you do that....oh well enjoy that frozen pension ,once again read dwp regulations    be happy     ps back in thailand next month

YES,i agree, you should send this completed form POL I believe to keep your frozen pension, that is what a proof of life document is,proof you are alive.   However after reading and ingesting DWP rules / regulations I am not convinced that the wording on POL applies to people who do not want their pension frozen, and after 16 years of life there ,I am truly convinced. Not that DWP will oblige with a statement.the closest answer to the Q IS  A1 ,with a 'dig deeper' feature. No body has ever, repeat been sanctioned for recieving unfrozen in frozen land. Anyway its all there, always has been in DWP rules/regulations   Unsanctioned is the word for OAP .Please ingest it   .Thank You            IF i may state a OAP or any other is not allowed a permanent stay in Thailand,TH rules /regulations ,sorta goes along with your PROOF OF LIFE form,go on get it filled in,may lose your frozen pension

Are you trying to convince members here to commit pension benefit fraud, Yes or No....???.....🤔

It is a very simple question which is easy to answer, so let's here it ........🤒

Ive answered, should i stand on my head?  NOT convincing anyone, even you,do not keep banging this drum. Ive had enough of your crap, look up DWP rules and regulations  SP REPEAT SP   STATE PENSION.   Not sanctionable, cannot by law be stopped ,adjusted, money taken back, but can be frozen,if you so wish ,but you have to request it,no request ...no freeze.......goodbye   please begone

Looking at rules and regulations "which i know are as important to you as to myself" I am vexed to find there is no issue of fraudulent behavior towards OAP claimant, perhaps I may encourage your good self to preamble  over the the said rules ,to find good fortune awaits

Everyone has a different set of moral codes.  Some think it's OK to lie and claim to be living in the UK, so that they can get state pension increases.  Up to you as they say - your decision.

For me, I was taught by my parents to never lie, even if the truth hurts me or others.  So there is no way that I would lie and claim to be living in the UK.  I do have a registered address in the UK, (registered with the electoral register, GP, bank etc etc), but I am not Ordinarily Resident.

I know the rules regarding frozen UK pensions, and have no intention of breaking those rules by lying.  If my modest UK pension is too little for my needs in future years, then I'll simply relocate and live in the PI, where my UK state pension is aligned with pension increases applied in the UK.  But for now, I don't need to consider such a move.

Received an SMS from DWP yesterday confirming receipt:

"We have processed your Life Certificate. You do not need to contact us."
