The "system" is someone at the local office logging in and approving or rejecting the submission you made.

  • If they didn't reset your due 90 day report when obtaining your extension stamp, then just proceed with the given date.

  • The online system pumps out a reminder 2 weeks before the 90 days are up from your last report.  Leaving the country doesn't get fed back to it so just ignore the email.

Khon Kaen office.

I usually do my online 90-Day a couple of days before due date and never a problem in 6 years. Approval's usually given within a couple of hours.

This time - today - I've had medical emergencies (not mine) over the last few days and it slipped my mind. I sent off my online application at 7 am today which is the due date. I've had the acknowledgement e-mail and pdf copy of TM47 so I know the app's been received but no approval so far at 4 pm and the office will be closing soon.

In the event that nothing's received in the next hour or two, is it likely that approval would be given tomorrow based on an app. that was submitted on time but dealt with slowly, or should I just prepare for a 200+ km round trip to the office?

I didn't realise they worked so late!! I got the approval e-mail just after 5 pm. so all's well.

I keep my own reminders and not rely on waiting for Imm to email a reminder. I reported on line for CW on schedule 5-Jan (inside the 15-7 day prior window) without having received any email reminder. I got an immediate email pending and PDF file - so all good I thought and wait. A week later I got an email reminder I need to make a 90 day report even as my previous report a week earlier is still pending. Still pending 9 days later. Previously I got the approved PDF the next day.

I've lived in Thailand for the past 25 years and I soon learned not to trust Thais with anything. All my important dates are on a fat disk. It shows on my desk top so I keep up with my vital dates. I always visit the immigration offce a few days before my 90 days is due.

Man, that's good service. KK is doing it right. Giving you the full '90 days' monty and timely turnarounds with the way they handle online reporting.

Yesterday, I had to visit my IO in person to sort out my next due 90 day report date, with the competent (🤣) officials.

I submit online and following my March online report, I was given a new due date of June 29th for the next report date.
My extension is due 10th July (Thai spouse) and I usually submit at least 30 days in advance, so before the next 90-day report date, which they usually inform me not to file as they always issue a new 90-day report date when I receive the new 1 year extension stamp.

I submitted my new extension application on 10th June, but this year they inform me to still submit my next 90 day on 29th June, even though days earlier I'd just confirmed details of the same registered address. I duly complied and received a new 90 day report date of 15th Sept, even though my application was still under review.
My new extension application was approved, and the stamp dated 23rd July, but they removed the 90 day notification slip for 15th Sept and replaced it with a new report date of 20th Oct. (90 days from the issue date of my extension stamp).

Imagine my surprise when on Monday I received an email reminding me my report is due 15th Sept, yet a 90-day notification slip affixed in my passport with the next report due 20th Oct.  :omfg: It was obvious when they issued the new report date of 20th Oct, they forgot to manually change the due date in the system, which thought it was still due 15th Sept. They appeared to be quite embarrassed when they realised their cock up and apologised.

I now have a new report date of 30th November.  🙄

The only saving grace is that I don't live 100Km away.

The online reporting system spits out a renewal at the expected date no matter whether you've left the country, died or as in your case, done a report in person.  From other reports you could just have ignored it and went with your revised date anyway and I'm sure it would all have washed out OK.

I am on an LTR via now (and only have every year annual reports) , but i still wake up some mornings, asking myself, did i forget to do my 90 day report ?? ... I panic for a second or two, i remember i am on an LTR visa, and then i roll over and fall back to sleep.

There was ONE occasion, some years back, when on either a type-O or OA non-immigrant visa, that I forgot about my 90-day report - almost.  I was at a dinner on Sunday and it suddenly dawned on me my 90-day report might be due.  I got back to my condo, and sure enough, 90-day report was due on either the previous Monday  or Tuesday .. about 6 days earlier.

So on the very next day, a Monday (7th day after 90-day report due) i went to Phuket immigration. At that time the rules said one could do their 90-day report up to 7-days late without a fine. So it appeared I might be ok and no fine.

The volunteers at immigration who checked my paperwork before i could see an IO advised me the immigration computer system was down, and suggested that I come back the next day. I noted if i did that I might be 8-days late for doing the 90-day report and subject to a fine ! .. So they gave me a queue # to wait to see an IO.

When my turn came, I went to the IO's desk, the IO noted i just 'barely' made the 7-day grace period, and since their computer was down, the IO filled in a bunch of paperwork to equate doing the 90-day in the computer.  ...

And I managed to get away with no fine.

But as noted, since then, every now and then I wake up in the morning and wonder - did i do my 90 day report??  😂

The online system spat out a renewal date of 15/9, but on receiving my extension stamp they removed that receipt and issued a manual new date of 20/10.
They didn't update the system to that effect, hence it sent an auto reminder for 15/9.

Had I ignored that and gone with the later date of 20/10, the application would have been rejected.

This is what happens when officials manually interfere with an automated system .......... incompetence.

I don't think so.

The automatic letter can't be stopped but a new online application in the lead up to the 20/10 date would have someone review the actual system, noted the revised date and given approval based on that.

In person, it's within 7 days of the due date, which includes the due date, so it was due today at the latest.

They may cut some slack for a day, depends on which side of bed they get out of tomorrow.

Any later and definitely a 2,000 BHT fine.

I seem to remember that in person reporting can be done up to 7 days after the due date.

Had they amended the date in the system when they manually issued me a new report date of 20/10, then I wouldn't have received that auto generated email reminder for 15/9. That was their error that they admitted and owned up to.
Had I ignored that auto email to report on 15/9 and gone with the manually revised date of 20/10, then it would have been refused as it was out of sync with the computer system, which was still expecting the report on 15/9.

As you mentioned in another thread he had the ability to check by logging into the "other" system, which they must have done in the past for me, however I wrongly said you would have been approved as I forgot they introduced the rule about first report after leaving the country being in person so would have refused you on that premise.

Silly rule that wasn't there originally.

I'm in the UK now and in the window for a 90 day report so will report online and hopefully get approved.  Not quite what your mate did I think as I'll be out of the country when reporting and he had returned the way I read it, but worth a try IMO.

As a follow up to this, although I'm currently in the UK I submitted my online TM47, in line with the due date from my last in-person submission, last week and today (Monday) got the approval.

Ongoing I'll try to stick to the online dates whether or not I leave the country.

why, you are not in Thailand no need to report and immigration may not look favorably on that

why . . .

To avoid in person or postal reporting and remain in the online system.  Also as an experiment to see how linked the systems are.

I understand but IMO the potential upside outweighs any risk.

I may back off again in the future and revert to the accepted procedure, but for now I'm comfortable with where I'm at.

I'm the OP that originally posted a friends experience.

He has completed 5 further online reports and an extension since, with absolutely no repercussions.
The online automated system is completely unaware if you're inside or outside the Country on any due date.

How to do for a child, needs a separate online account after first report in person?

WOW SOMETHING NEW THIS MONTH i GOT A REMINDER EMAIL FROM iMMI THAT It was time to renew my 90 day

I have submitted a 90 day application using the immigration online service, but there seems to be problems. My application has been with immigrations for 2 weeks but all it says online is pending.

My date for reporting has now became overdue but no reply from immigrations. I have a receipt for my application, but no one answers my application, only pending. If I go to immigrations will they try to fine me even though I applied early but no one answers.

You can report in person up to 7 days past your due date.  If it's not yet 7 days, cancel your online submission and go do it in person.  If it's already past 7 days, then there's nothing you can do.  Just wait and see if they reply.  They will either accept it or reject it.  The late fine is 2000 baht, whether you are 8 days late or 8 months late.  So if they reject it, don't worry about it until the next time you need to go to immigration.

Today, Sep 23rd, 2025, I can't log into my account (90-day reporting) which I have done many times with the same login details -- Just 3 months ago. System tells me "INVALID DATA". I tried "forgot password" but got the same error message. Not using VPN. Is their system down again?

I am getting the same error message when logging in today.

I logged in today about 1 hour ago. I had to change my password. There were no problems.

I've just logged in to online 90 day reporting as normal. I was not asked to change my password. VPN is on.

That’s exactly the confusion I’m facing now.

With my recent retirement extension, no new 90-day slip was put in my passport — and sure enough, the online system just sent me a reminder based on my last online report, not the extension stamp.

You said at least you don’t live 100 km away — mine’s 120 km return.

If I file online, it still has to be approved by my local office — so I’m assuming it’s up to them whether they reset the clock or just let the old cycle keep running.

Does that sound right to you?

If they didn't reset your due 90 day report when obtaining your extension stamp, then just proceed with the given date.
