Kerryd Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I think the idea was being used in some places in Japan some time ago as well as China. And you notice it's not the skinny people who whine about it ? It's the obese people who think they should also get a discount so they can eat more for less. 1 1

I'd like to see them stuffed beside each other. Four in a row of four seats. Maybe then they'll think about eating just 1 hamburger a day instead of (10). I sat next to a Texas college football player he was sitting in the middle on about an hour and a half flight to DFW Dallas/Fort Worth. His shoulders were so wide you would think he was wearing shoulder pads. Dude was really nice and actually sat leaning forward for about the whole flight to not impact his seat mates. Thanked him many times.
JonnyF Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Good idea. Encourage the chubsters to eat less since they pay more.
Popular Post jvs Posted April 9 Popular Post Posted April 9 To explain this to fat Americans,it is kind of like a tariff but the other way around. 3
ignore it Posted April 9 Posted April 9 A debito pinguium libera nos, Domine. (From the fury of the fat people deliver us, O Lord) 2
Sydebolle Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I did not know that Chiang Mai has only one restaurant ...... If you have a problem with this concept, then vote with your feet and go elsewhere - the choice is yours. 1 1
bkk6060 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Great idea. Those of us who eat right and take care of themselves should be rewarded. 1

Eats more then me and her husband put together. Do not ask me how she does it. My Thai wife is the same! A strong breeze would blow her away but she can eat like a Clydesdale! 😲
Baba Naba Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Hmm... Is it a requirement to walk through this? Public display of fat shaming?

Not all people who are overweight are gluttons various medical conditions can cause the body to increase fat.I for one had a problem of weight gain through no apparent reason I ate one meal a day and walked 6 kilometres every day with no decline. After an ultrasound for an unrelated symptom they discovered a growth on my adrenal gland which made the body produce to much cortisol,a friend in small doses but the body's enemy in large amount.solution they removed the gland and in a matter of a few months I lost 10 kilos.

It's only 20% off, but image all the tiny tilacs going there for 20% off

I went from 170 to 205 over a period of a few years. in 2018 It was found that I had an overactive parathyroid gland. In 2019 I underwent surgery to have that gland removed. I lost 30 pounds in 3 weeks!!

Havefunme Posted April 9 Posted April 9 18 hours ago, johng said: Excellent they should do the same on airlines charge by the kilo same as they do for luggage or freight. unhealthy eating habits is what make someone fat...yes we should be fatphobic to some extent as obese people are unhealthy in most cases, maybe there is a case for Sumo wrestlers but they should also be charged by the kilo...or maybe all the obese should be mandatory injected with Ozempic to save the health services (and granny) seeing as my body my choice flew straight out the window with Covid. ? So body builders weight lifters people who care about their health but can't fit threw are unhealthy just like the BMI test it's false assessments of people's health as you think .
Hatari fan Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Do you take the test before or after you have eaten. Very smart of the restaurant if it's after. A fun thing either way.
Satcommlee Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Aa a person who would struggle to fit through the full price bars, I still see this is nothing but harmless fun... I also think they should have them at Sweet/Candy aisles at supermarkets 🙂
2long Posted April 9 Posted April 9 It's doing exactly what was intended. And that's gaining publicity! Good on them! 1
Webfoot Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I could get through for the discount if it weren’t for the enormous bulge in the front of my trousers.
StandardIssue Posted April 9 Posted April 9 More prejudice against the fat people. Why oh why oh why??
Photoguy21 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Most people are overweight because they eat too much and never exercise. I don't see the problem with a discount for people who actually take care of themselves and their body.
rwill Posted April 9 Posted April 9 It is not a buffet. Why should people pay different prices for the same plate of food?

ChrisKC Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Yes, but should we impose it on others? Overweight people make their own choices One choice they have made is to be the Restaurant's customer! One Choice the restaurant Owner could have is to welcome their Customers and be grateful for them! In any event, how do the customers get out?

Not what I said at all, I said obese people are mostly unhealthy with the possible exception of Sumo wrestlers who train and workout rigorously but have to eat huge amounts to keep the weight on. A skinny guy like Bruce Lee may have been able to fit through the bars and get a discount whereas Hulk Hogan not. You can be small skinny and healthy or large muscular and healthy but there are very few obese healthy people in my opinion of course some bright spark (chat GPT ) will no doubt post a peer reviewed paper proving me wrong 😋
