There is a wonderful freedom in the US. You really appreciate it if you come from Europe.

After 1492, America has not been free.

You mean 1789, as before that, it was simply a colony of Europeans, living under the ruling thumb of England.    With no 'Freedom of Speech or Expression'

Shortly after that, the USA legally freed everyone, during that little 'civil war'.  Outlawed slavery that the rest of the world thought was normal.  Go figure :coffee1:

Agree, not even close.  You work, if able, or live on the street & starve.

... There's no high income tax on all.

... No true universal healthcare.

... No free higher education.

... There's no 'living expense' for non workers.

... No 1 or 2 months of paid holidays.  Anything more than 1 week of holiday, needs to be negotiated, by self or representative of yours.

... No govt pension that isn't earned, by work years / points, along with yours and employer's contribution to fund.

Everything, if able to work, is earned in the USA.  The way it should be.

I do agree healthcare & higher educations should be available to all, free, but the system is so whacked, don't think it's possible now.

Certainly not fair for those not benefiting from college education and good jobs from, to pay student loans of professionals making big bucks, or idiots that chose the wrong field, didn't seek jobs, and now can't pay off loans 'they' agree to pay.

In USA, you have to live with your choices, so choose wisely.

I almost agree, but then America (the USA, my home country) would be "the Land of the Cultists." 😒

So true,  Obama told them all they HAD to get a college degree - the Universities of course heard his statement and expande campuses so that they need to have the population of a city so to enter, the majority of folks took out loans (even Trump was doing loans to students but got busted)  Now, too many got Bachelor of Arts degrees, what can they do for a career now?  Smart folks  went to get apprentiships as electricians, plumbers, house buiders so could still find some jobs.  Now that piece of paper from the colleges is still stranguling those who got those loans.  Others thought that they would be able to find those manufacturing jobs their parents had but all those plants closed as the Chinese were making the same products much cheaper even with the shipping so the manufacturers closed down.

It was going socialist under Biden & Harris.  But new management is changing all that.  Thankfully!

And here I thought it was FDR who was the one that turned the USA into a socialist country.

Here is the definition of "dictator" in the Online Free Dictionary...

"1. (Government, Politics & Diplomacy)

a. a ruler who is not effectively restricted by a constitution, laws, recognized opposition, etc

b. an absolute, esp tyrannical, ruler

...

4. a person who makes pronouncements, as on conduct, fashion, etc, which are regarded as authoritative

5. a person who behaves in an authoritarian or tyrannical manner"

I think all of these describe Trump, or at least the way Trump is trying to be, very well. 🥺

The USA is a Republic!

A Constitutional Republic is a form of government in which power is limited by a constitution, and elected representatives are responsible for making decisions on behalf of the people. In contrast, socialism is an economic and political system in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state, with the goal of achieving economic equality and social welfare. While both systems aim to promote the well-being of their citizens, a Constitutional Republic emphasizes individual rights and limited government intervention, while socialism prioritizes collective ownership and redistribution of resources.

He is dictating policy by "executive orders" and is not "governing" through the  congress/senate as mandated!
