Depends what phone you want...      You mentioned 'new phone' - do you mean brand new, never used...  or something thats new for you, but is second hand ?   - If brand-new: then go

You mentioned 'new phone' - do you mean brand new, never used...  or something thats new for you, but is second hand ?

- If brand-new: then going direct to any dealer will be the same as anywhere else.

- If second hand: then going to MBK will give you the best choice and prices.

i'd avoid. go to fortune town, less of a tourist trap rip off place

There are some things you should only buy from manufacturer's store or authorized reseller, and phones are definitely one of those.  Xiaomi / Poco phone fan myself.

Good Luck

What's stand out about it? has NFC? what speeds are you getting on fiber wifi?

Yes it has NFC. The speed on your home WiFi depends on so many factors. What's coming into your router, how far you are from it. How many other people are using it simultaneously.

All I know is that I can stream UK TV FHD no problem at all, either from my home WiFI via 3BB, or mobile data via AIS SIM card.

It is a great display, sound is reasonable, it has a jack socket, charges to 100% in less than 30 minutes. 512 GB memory.

My Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 (4G) has a slower wifi speed than my 12 5G, reason i was asking is it depends on the phone

Of course it also depends on the actual phone's specification. And generally a phone connecting to the 4G network will be slower than 5G. and newer models, 9 vs 12, will also be faster.

Exactly, so test the speed and report back, using Meteor I'm 224 Mbps

If you do go to MBK, I've been told the business named NASA has the best prices.  You can check the prices on Facebook.

I have 3BB 1Gb/s coming into their router. I am right next to it with my phone

Simply on that 2.4 wifi I get Ping 18ms, upload 40.7 Mbps and 57.2 download.

On AIS 5G mobile network I get Ping 33, Up 42 and down 64.4

Using Ookla Speedtest I get 20, 33, 91 on mobiie and 4, 195 and 240 on my 2.4 home WiFi 2.4 router.

I have had up to 480 Mbps download and 95 upload at other times, early morning or late at night.

On an older Huawei phone I am getting 7, 47 and 58.3 on home wifi via Meteor, and 5, 61 and 57.1 with Ookla.

Enough to go on?

You should use 5ghz wifi, that will be 200Mbps, I don't use 2.4ghz on this phone

On WiFI 5GHz network, I get 15, 63 up and 67 down using Meteor, and 3, 173 up and 71 down using Ookla. maybe I shall try mynet.org tomorrow.  Whatever the figures are, I can still get FHD TV, and no buffering ever.

Strange eh?

Should be THE BEST place to buy a mobile phone not the cheapest.

Yes, but be careful. Some shops sell grey imports without official warranty in Thailand.

Yeah that's not great, maybe the phone spec is similar to my Note 9. I get easy 200Mbps with Note 12 5G using 3BB, maybe time for you to upgrade to Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 5G

Thnaks everyone for the advice

@johng Pantip plaza was near Platinum mall.  Going there was an ex perieicne that a person that had any interest in cmputers had to go to.

No matter how old your computer there was soemeone there with parts.  If Somchai on the first floor didnot have the software you were looking for then usually a botle of pop and 15 minutes later his brother or cousin or whoever on a diferent floor had it and a copy was burned for you.

Plus to top it of it had and A&W that atually madke teh shakes correctly.

It was just plain heaven.   Now it is restaurants and bars not as inviting.

Why upgrade when it does everything I want it to do? Keeping up with the Jones' is the saying in English.

Ping 4, Up 16.1, down 133 this morning on 3BB 5G. Going into my router is 2, 560, 950. so I reckon it is the crappy router 3BB gave me as opposed to my POCO X6 5G phone.
