Jokes aside, but I met a dude at his middle 20s, he met his very pretty GF online, flew to BKK and they are living happy for 3-4 years (my guess). Nice bloke, unfortunately he dropped everything in AU and works as teecha Jay, but yes. Magic is happening sometimes.

19+ yrs together ... shocking everyone that knows me, as I went through women fast, in between relationships.  My brother use to razz me, when I showed up with a different face.  He'd look past me and say ... I know  guy from the U..S. he did the online dating and meet a hottie.  They talked everyday for a couple months before he came to Thailand to meet her.  Prior however, he sent her 4 million baht so she could buy a condo in Pattaya so they would have a place to live when he arrived.  After being together for 6 months, she told him to leave and now has a new young guy living in her condo.

Damn, got me beat.  Knew wife #3 for 11 weeks before getting married.  Realized in about 6 months, oops, so got divorced, even stayed together for maybe another 6 ish months.

 

#1 & #2 were 2 years each.  #1 lasted 2+ yrs, #2 only lasted 1 year.

 

 #4 was 8 yrs living together before married, and still together, for 19+ total.

 

2 live ins, moved in within a couple months of dating, then couple years together, before getting the boot.

 

Nobody I know, knew, ever asked me for relationship advice.  Go figure 🙄

Strangely, all were mutual, no surprise endings, so a good thing.  No real dramas.  Lucky hearing some of the stories here.  No kids or real assets to divide, so nothing really to fight over.

 

Only one here, TH, was a bit of push & shove out the door.  Not that she wanted to stay, she wanted to take sh!t with her.

They are different, and folks do need advice on how things work differently in Thailand.  But, it hard to get through to most - have to learn the hard way.  "She's like no woman I ever knew" - you got THAT right.

 

I say that as married to a Thai for over a decade.  I don't regret it at all - but, a LOT of learning how the dynamic is different here was involved.  There are areas you need to not budge an inch, and others where you must be very flexible, to make it work.

 

Edit: (But, no, I did not meet her on a "dating site" - She was working a regular job.  My advice - find one of those AFTER you get here, and get aquanted with Thailand, generally.)

I woke up one morning and heard crying in the hallway. It was a Thai girl that said someone stole her purse and she cannot get into her room. I helped her, called security, they got the door open. The next day she knocked on my door and said she wants to take care of me. She did, for free. For many months I was her booty call. She said she has 5 foreigner boyfriends sending her money every month. She cried again to me when one left her for her friend.
