Israeli Tourist Busted for Selling Magic Mushrooms on Koh Samui

Featured Replies

What a scandal!! It's my understanding, that most cannabis shops in Koh Samui and Koh Phangan are selling magic mushrooms. So the real problem must be, that in this particular shop, they were sold by a foreign tourist. Meanwhile all the Thai-sellers of magic mushrooms continues to operate undisturbed, because no foreigner would be bothered to tip off the police about a Thai national selling magic mushrooms.

Except mushrooms, magic or not - or anything Nature invented - should never be illegal in the first place. That is the point that should be made, not some xenophobic one.

Maybe ban all Israelis from entering Thailand. They are a bunch of misbehavers.

Aw shucks. If not the local Israeli weed shop, where's a brother supposed to go now to get hooked up with magic mushies?

  • There was some talk of that earlier this year. They are banned from a few countries already.

From your anti-Semitic point of view, certainly👎

Where is my comment antisemitic? Or do you insult me? (Against AN rules)

Explain!

Iran, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Iraq, maybe a few more.

Malaysia,

Using a weed shop as cover to sell hallucinations... Simultaneously clever and stupid. Send this one back to the holy land (let him sell to his own). Better yet, Thai prison for a few years would do him good

Wouldn't be the first country in the world to do so...

Love the photo of the 29 year old, Ben opening his palms as to say "this is all we have, everything legal, so why the police". Last ditch attempt  at feigning innocence. I don't think Ben has a tight grasp of the reality of the situation and the severe consequences,

We see what liberal weed politics does to Thailand, ain't all positive. Individual freedom is not automatically an collective freedom

Never tried magic mushrooms and no interest to either but I know that magic mushrooms cause lots bad problems for newbie tourists who take them in Amsterdam and end up in the emergency room.  No one knows what is in the dosages sold and what effects to expect.  It is the same with ingesting cannabis but much worse.

Throw the book at this creep and the Thai government should consider tougher visa rules for Israelis to make it harder for them to hang out in Thailand for months on end doing illegal businesses.  Visa rules for Thais going to Israel are quite strict for similar reasons of working illegally.  Introducing reciprocal visa rules for Israelis and they can't complain, if they are unwilling to relax visa rules for Thais.

Seems they push the Israeli's involvement a lot more than the Thai's....

I don't get this.  If you are not in your home country you need to be extra careful to not break any laws or cause any trouble.  Why would someone sell this stuff?  Desperate for money maybe or just stupid?  Both?

Because they feel they can't be held accountable for anything as they are above Thais and as the woman in the restaurant last week pointed out their money built this country 🙄🙈

Can you name some, that are not purely on political grounds

...

Magic mushrooms have been illegal in Holland for years now. And people don't end up in the emergency room because of magic mushrooms.

Magic mushrooms:

Addictive potential: zero

Lethal dose: unknown

Noxiousness scale: between strawberries and a glass of beer.

Therapeutic effect: anti-depressive, life-enriching

This is the thing with tourism. You want them all from everywhere and think they are all civilized well behaved people? LOl! That is not how the world is and work! You want it all, then take some pain on the way! Just make sure you punish the perpetrators so words spread about what can happen if you F*** up in Thailand! I wonder how high percentage of troublemakers are.....0.001 percent? Anyone know? Is it a thousand of every million? I dont think so, so Thailand, just smile AND DEAL WITH IT!!   😆😆😆

So, using your logic, arsenic, cyanide, uranium, numerous viruses and bacterium, etc should all be legal.

It does seem to be a cultural issue, not just in Thailand either.

That is what Thailand is doing.

And they do it better than most.

These Israelis are ruining it for all of us.

Why can't Thailand just suspend Visa privileges for Israeli citizens?

Seems to be a lot of Israeli already..😷

Of couirse they do. Ever see calls for Brits or Aussies to be banned after a bust up?

Just another topic for the anti semites to out themselves. Found some new ones.

Actually 28 UN nations States don't recognize Israeli sovereignty which means passports not recognized, all Muslim aside from Cuba, North Korea and Venezula.

Not that this has anything to do with one Israeli tourist busted for selling magic mushrooms on Koh Samui. But good opportunity for the Israeli bashers to rant and give there personal opinions on unsubstantiated claims of personal experiences

Israeli misbehaviour is nothing new in Thailand.

As long ago as the early 1980s the biggest mountain trekking company in Chiang Mai banned them after getting so many complaints from their guides about obnoxious Israeli behaviour.

An old Thailand friend had lived in Goa for many years, he said that Israelis had the illicit drugs trade sewn-up there (He himself was a bit of a junkie).

Thais are at least locals, and Israelis have been working hard on showing plenty of disrespect and crappy behavior for some tome now!

No, but the ones i scrolled by were and the map I glanced at showed the same if the dude what's to find out he can Google it.

The Israelis or on a bit of a run in the bad boy stakes. However, the headline did single out the Israeli with no mention of the Thai partner, who will be by now, trying to frame him.

Totally correct, and Israelis have been doing exactly the same in Thailand and most like still do.

Frame him?

He is guilty, no need to frame him.
