People were given temporary protection visas if they went through the proper channels then shipped off to sanctuary states BUT millions poured across not through official channels.

Thats not an explanation of the claimed open border policy so try again.

Totally normal.  If we changed some words,

Anyone dumb enough to want to hurt and possibly kill someone has put their life at risk.   firebomb, gun...

yea, FL, make sure they know this isn't a game.

The fact is there were millions crossing the border illegally. Simple as. No definitions needed. The term "open border" is commonly used to describe the situation of 10's of millions of people crossing into the U.S. virtually unhindered. Trump has stopped this.

I wouldn't need a private school in any event, as Texas has many very good schools that are public. All my children went to them, and they were all high ranked. I'll be in the Hill Country, where there are also good schools, three of which my grandchildren went to. Education only suffers when teachers aren't doing their jobs, along with administrators.

This year, Texas is ranked 29th for education, both K-12 and higher education.

best of luck.

But their schools are still good in general. If you pass, you did what was asked of you. If you want good grades, that's up entirely to you. Good grades can get you a scholarship, which my granddaughter just received. 40 miles north of San Antonio, in a small school, she received her fully paid scholarship because my daughter and her father kept on her to use her brain. Now she's going to Southwest College to learn flight school. The schools around where I lived where my 4 children went, were high ranked. They all passed and have careers they like doing. It's still in the students hands, along with the teachers desire to teach. Texas is actually ranked 25th, but that is still good in a country with many good schools. They're still light years ahead of Thai schools, even the private ones. You don't go to an international school here, then college, you're at 7-11 or Lotus for life, or worse, at some shop selling Somtam or coffee. But you could always go back to farming.

All the best. I wouldn't do it. I'm a firm believer in private schools. Maybe I'm just overly cautious.

I came from New Jersey, always ranked in the top 5, and everyone I've ever known came from public schools. Private schools do have smaller classes and more one on one, which can help some students. I wouldn't want my children to go to a public school in a bad area of a big city but we always lived in rural areas, and I will again.

I have not read these 4 pages. I get the sense it makes all the macho tough guys on this site feel good but it's not that big a deal to say -  if law enforcement's lives are directly threatened we will take action to neutralise the threat. Standard I would have thought.  If they are saying if you throw a brick at no one in particular you get shot that would be a something different thing.

I think the protests are justifiable, but I think violence is not, these protests need to be peaceful and if the goon wants to invade peaceful protests with law enforcement, the army or the National Guard, then the people can see with their own eyes the blatant overreach, and the astonishing disregard for Law and Order.

Protest the wannabe king! Power to the people and democratic expression.

I don't think anyone in America has a problem with legal immigrants working in the U.S. There are of course others who are waiting to be documented but the system is now overrun with the millions who flooded in falsely claiming asylum.

They were crossing the border under every political party simple fact that you continually ignore by claim " it was an open border".. You use the catch all phrase open border which means nothing different than past history but by using that phrase you imply it was Biden or a dem agenda that they just announce to come on in its free and open.  That was not the case at all despite any false claim you try to make.

People from all over the world were flying into Mexico because of Biden's welcoming policies.

It was an unsustainable policy. US cities were spending crazy amounts of tax payer money to house, feed, medical and schooling.

As a non US I wonder how these  millions of people actually survive?

If they are being employed illegally then why not go  just go after the company ? I am  obviously missing something.

Who killed the bipartisan border bill cause they needed the problem ehh?

ehh...as in "take off ehhh"

FYI feeble mind: democrats who voted against the bill and reason why.

  1. May 2024 Vote (43-50):
    • Cory Booker (D-NJ): Explicitly opposed the bill in May, after supporting it in February when it included Ukraine aid. He criticized its restrictive asylum policies and argued it didn’t align with Democratic values on immigration.
    • Alex Padilla (D-CA): Continued his opposition, reiterating concerns about the bill’s lack of humanitarian protections and its focus on enforcement over comprehensive reform. **(this muppet committed a FAFO & got tossed to the ground by police after rushing at Kristi Noem yesterday)
    • Ed Markey (D-MA): Maintained his opposition, consistent with his progressive stance against measures that curtailed asylum rights.
    • Laphonza Butler (D-CA): Again voted against, citing the bill’s punitive approach to migration.
    • Ben Ray Luján (D-NM): Continued to oppose, aligning with progressive Democrats.
    • Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ): Though an independent, Sinema caucuses with Democrats and was a lead negotiator on the bill. She voted against it in May, calling the vote “political theater” and criticizing both parties for using the bill for election-year posturing rather than genuine legislative progress.
    • Chris Murphy (D-CT): Another lead negotiator, Murphy voted against the bill in May, despite initially supporting it. His opposition was likely tied to frustration with the politicized process, as the bill was reintroduced without changes and was unlikely to pass.

"The Border Act of 2024 (S.4361) initially included aid to Ukraine as part of a broader national security supplemental package negotiated in the U.S. Senate, reflecting a strategic effort to address multiple geopolitical and domestic priorities in a single legislative vehicle. The inclusion of Ukraine aid alongside border security measures was driven by political, procedural, and diplomatic considerations, but it also contributed to the bill’s contentiousness and eventual rejection.

Trump solved border security and immigration issues essentially overnight (as he so often promised) and all it involved was Americans electing the right person, Donald Trump, into office. A border bill was a huge waste of time and false pretenses from your ever confused loser liberal muppet friends who all worked overtime to ensure Bidens illegal alien invasion continued, uninterrupted.

Talking in circles again, what peaceful protest did he invade, when he sent in the troops things were already spiraling out of control.

I am not talking about the Los Angeles protests. I'm talking about the hundreds of protests that are planned for this weekend, let us see if Trump can control his impulses and behave himself for a change.

My impulse would be to shoot them all dead!

Ole Wayne did a good job communicating Florida's stance on out of control rioting.

The posts made here on this forum, if indicative of other Americans around the Globe - together with the highly charged, divisive and divided atmosphere that seems to prevail all over the US, I'd say that the USA is on course for another Civil War.

Let's all hope you are all able to celebrate your 251st anniversary next year!

This is America! Listen, watch and learn.... THAT YOU NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!! Stay away! ☠☠☠
