How do you like your pizza?

For me, it’s gotta be a margarita. That’s the true test of a pizza, no distractions, no fancy toppings trying to show off, just pure pizza doing its thing. Sometimes I’ll throw a bit of pepperoni on there if I’m feeling cheeky, like I’m living dangerously. And when I really wanna test the quality, I’ll shove a slice in the fridge overnight and eat it stone cold in the morning like some kind of pizza connoisseur with a hangover who’s just given up on life. That’s when you really find out if it’s the good stuff. What about you?

Pepperoni. Simple and delicious. Make sure the pepperoni is cooked though. Maybe even a little crunchy.

This tops the list as the most boring pizza.

This will be unpopular but I don't care, I know what I like.

Pizza Company's super deluxe pan hold the pineapples. Pure comfort food gut bomb. I only indulge once or twice a year, it's obviously one of the worst things you can introduce into your system. I Photoshopped out the pineapple bits, don't even like to see them let alone eat them.

Not sure if you like New York pizza, but have you ever had a slice from Soho Pizza in Sukhumvit Soi 11? It's about 90% pure mainlining of NYC pizza flavor. A dash more sauce with a touch more oregano in the sauce and it would be a near perfect copy.

I've tried several types at the New York Pizza House on 3rd Road Pattaya. They're OK, but a Pizza House gut bomb is still my favorite.

For Pattaya have you ever tried Pizza Big in Naklua? It's been there for at least 20 years. Real wood-fired oven making plate size pizzas. Very authentic Italian style. No gut bomb effect, but a very classic taste.

Pizza Company Extra sauce and crispy

You must be American, you guys love sauce.

Just order a sauce pizza, that's a pizza base with sauce.

I'm not a sauce guy.

I order ribs, most times it's covered in inches of sauce, I spend the next 10 minutes removing sauce.

I went there more than 20 years ago and it was nice but then i returned after a few years and found that the menu was exactly the same before. No updates, no creativity, just the same old "traditional" toppings.

I'm from Sydney so I'm used to pizza that is not "traditional". Our Italians adapted the recipes for the local tastebuds. Or maybe they were just from a different part of Italy than the ones that emigrated to the USA. The "Supreme" pizza was a staple of Sydney pizza shops, it had everything plus pineapple which of course gets tradionalists in a tizz. The first time I tasted it I was hooked.

Sydney also has a lot of immigrants from Lebanon and Turkey. They make Italian style pizza but with all sorts of weird toppings that would enrage a traditional Italian but tasted pretty good to me.

For example, here's the ingredients from one of my favourite pizza shops:

Chef Special Pizza

$17.25

Cheese, diced leg of lamb, onion, pepperoni, sliced olives, feta cheese and sliced tomato....

Halal

Nice fat kalamata olives too, not those wimpy little black olives 😂

Here's another one that will upset the traditionalists but tastes pretty darn good with a few coldies:

Chicken Kebab Pizza

$17.25

Cheese, chicken, onion, mushroom, capsicum, olives and pineapple. With crushed tomato...

Here's one from Mancini's in Belfield, Sydney that will probably annoy lots of Italians. Tasted like heaven to me 😂

Diablo

$31.90

Beef, sour cream, pepperoni, onion, tomato, jalapenos & avocado

I used to order from Soho Pizza all the time a few years ago. I really enjoyed it for a time and then the quality fell off a cliff. I have ordered from both Soi 11 and The Commons Sala Daeng recently and based on those offerings I would struggle to recommend it to anyone.

1/2 mushroom, 1/2 Italian sausage sliced thin, New York or New Jersey style.

Thin crust, the lot with Kalamata olives, anchovies and of course pineapple with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. Pity is in Thailand pizza is way to expensive for tiny pizzas. Question is is pizza better hot or cold? Personally I've never worked this one out.

Agree, 100%. Used to be if you paid ฿300 for a pizza in Bangkok that was considered a lot of money and you could expect something decent. Now I get tons of pretentious Instagram ads popping up in my feed all day showing me small, 9 inch pizzas from various Italian restaurants around Bangkok. Average price is around ฿600 or ฿700 for one of their small pizzas. They look like barely the size of a decent appetizer. No thank you.

Is that same day cold or day old cold? 😆

Make my own....Crispy crust with Italian pepper salami, ham, mushrooms, & onions....I make 2 or 3 at a time.....

I can make 3 very large for the price of one large dining out..... There's 4 of us so the 10-12" local pizzas don't cut it.....

After being in the fridge.

A thick-crusted Sicilian-style, rectangular pan, filled with lots of sauce and cheese, and a crust that's an inch thick. Give me the corner slices!

Those slices have already been claimed.

Nope the perfect margarita pizza if made correctly is just perfect simplicity, can't be beaten

Pizza company "new York style" was nice, always used to have deep crust but tried that and it converted me.

It's about all you can get out in the sticks, so for the very occasional itch to eat pizza, the its the Pizza company or nout!

As with all food questions there is the lifted pinkie brigade who like to see themselves and like to be seen as discriminating connoisseurs (that's French Tish).

But pizza in all its varieties is nearly always lovely.

Of course if what you consume is a fashion accessory meant to demonstrate the succulent grandeur of your lifestyle and your personality you will denigrate Pizza Company. But Pizza Company is popular and successful because people who select their meals based on what they like to eat enjoy Pizza Company's pizza.

Sadly the demise of Food Panda narrows the choices of pizza delivery considerably.

Anyway, lots of good pizzas to eat, life is good.

If I  were in the UK then a Margarita from l'antica pizzeria da Michele.

But here in Thailand the options are the Pizza Hut Napoli style spicy Salami, Pizza Company's New York Cheese or thin crust chicken pineapple.

Soho Pizza in Sukhumvit Soi 11?

Went over there once but they don't accept cash, so we went somewhere else.

1. As much stuff as possible

2. White pizza with garlic, feta, pine nuts, aubergine, mozzarella

3. Greasy pepperoni
