I would have thought Israel has enough nuclear weapons already itself to frighten off any near adversary. Even the Iranian mullahs don't want to reach paradise too early.

Israel also have nuclear missiles on submarines, so even if the Mullahs managed to turn Israel into glass, Tehran would still be converted into a landfill of death bodies.

I dont think the fear is that Iran will use one - IMO the fear is that they will give one to their radical terrorist organisations that they support, and let them do it - and deny it was them that supplied it. Imagine if Hamas had access to a nuclear weapon - even a small one like the W54 would have catastrophic impact if they somehow snuck one into Tel Aviv.

Iran does not have a nuclear weapon..US intelligence says just a few weeks ago

But according to Isreal  they have been months away from one for the last 30 years.

Never mind that the Iranian government has said they are pursuing nuclear electricity production  as is their sovereign right, had signed up to the nuclear non proliferation treaty and had let IAEA inspectors in to inspect facilities for 20 years..non of which Isreal has done.
