A Turkish teen caused chaos on Bangkok’s Khao San Road after losing his passport, leading to a violent altercation and arrest.

In the early hours of yesterday, an 18-year-old Turkish tourist's outburst turned violent on Bangkok’s famous backpacker strip, leaving onlookers stunned and police hauling him in for questioning at Chanasongkram station.

Witnesses report the young man, heavily intoxicated, approached a group of Thai women waiting for their Grab ride. After being politely ignored, he left, returning more agitated, shouting about his missing passport and funds.

“He slapped my shoulder, so I slapped him back,” explained Pink, a 22-year-old involved in the incident. “He was clearly drunk. We just wanted to go home.”

The situation escalated until a local tuk tuk driver and bystanders restrained him, holding him for police arrival.

Authorities revealed the teen had been wandering the area, possibly involved in other disturbances, including injuring a foreign woman with a stab.

Ironically, his expired passport was later found and handed in by a taxi driver, adding a twist to the night's events.

The unnamed Turkish national remains in custody, facing charges as investigations proceed. Police remind tourists that foreign status doesn’t exempt them from Thai laws: “Drunk or not, violence has consequences.”

Midnight Express redux

"Teen". That's definitely the wrong age to be on Kao San. Because of his age I doubt he'll go to prison. Just deported and let his mommy and daddy whup his ɑss

Lock him up for about 30 days before releasing him, and then deport him! 😡

I think you are overlooking his expired passport which will lead to serious charges of overstay, along with this violent incident.

A movie i watched a week before my first ever trip to the Middle East!

If I had been tempted to smuggle drugs, which i never was, it would certainly have made me reconsider!

He must have been here for more than six months if his passport (as opposed to his permisiion to stay) has expired.

Battety and Assault, expired passport ... no further investigation required. Fine, jail, black-list and then deport this self-centered narcissistic youth.

The Turks banned that film because of how it portrayed them. Yes it is a good deterant, but then so is establishing a career/profession, which should stop you getting desperate for money.
