Air conditioning degrees

Featured Replies

On how many degrees do you generally put a/c in your living and sleeping room?  Just curious.   Thank you.

  • That reminds me of my Mrs, going on a few nights holiday/hotel with family. She said we all froze because the 'mum' set the A/C to 17* because it was in the price of the rooms...............😂

  • What's the point in asking? just set your A/C temp to whatever your comfortable with.

Living room: 29.

Bedroom: 24.

We use fans in addition to the AC as well.

PS. The A/C in the living room mostly runs during the hot months.

Day 27°C
Night 24°C

Yes, I know a few Thai's who like absolute zero 😂

The same people raid my refrigerator and eat half their body weight

The problem is everyone likes different temps.

Some people don't like fans at all.

If you're sharing a living space, need to compromise.

Wow, that is mostly very high numbers.  And I thought I was an extreme saver.  But if I have shirt and trousers on, I cannot live higher than 25 or 26.  Without maybe 28.  And at night also about 28.  Otherwise so sweaty in the morning that I cannot shave electrically.

I could live without AC, but why?

It's no problem really, the power is "free" provided it's reasonably sunny and we usually get a week to get the batteries back to full before they come and empty them again.

One negative is when the village power is off we are still lit up like a christmas tree.

Talk about moths to a flame.

They come to use our internet "for the kids homework" and then proceed to drink whatever alcohol is in stock and empty the fridge of anything remotely edible.

One morning Madam noticed that the dog's dinner had vanished from the fridge :whistling:

Yes, lucky we're living in Thailand, everything is reasonably cheap.

Ha, ha, they would have had no idea it was for the dog.

It was probably tastier than their home cooked meals. 😂

Mine are set at 27° and that is also the temperature my room thermometer shows.

I know some people set theirs at 20° and then wonder why they have high electricity costs and their aircon never stops running.

The answer is simple, because their room never reaches that temperature when the outside temperature is like 35°C

Keep in mind, when it's 20°C outside in December, you will need a warm coat to ride your motorbike, or even sit at an open beerbar.

Does 20°C feel the same in your home country?
