I haven't seen or heard about from anyone I know here that they're eaten here, although I have heard that some do, from others who have lived here. I have seen most everything else eaten here.

When the neighbor had the Lao Khao boys over for a night time BBQ, it was dog. This is Sakon Nakhon.

No. Chickens are raised as food. Dogs are domestic animals and only eaten by some that also don't look at them as pets and part of the family. People have stolen my chickens and ducks, but they are replaceable as they are again, food. Dogs aren't and are more loyal than most any other animals. Anyone who intentionally kills a dog, especially here, isn't doing so for food but anger, over an issue they learned in childhood. That domestic animals lives mean nothing. People that can readily kill a dog are likely to hurt humans a lot easier than those that respect them.

Or maybe he's just protecting his food supply?

Yes true.

But they do act as security guards at night.

The dogs next door go spazz,  if and one come nosing around at night.

Good alarm system , mostly. :giggle:

And that's why people poison them, barking all night.

Anyone who lives in the sticks understands this one.

And other things that go on with animals.

The wood chipper was more of a joke, don't get to fired up over it.

But dead dog over chickens, I get it.

Some times people die over this issue.

'The woodchipper was more of a joke'. Really ? I suggest you seek medical help.

Are being trained, neglected and or abused, so they have no respect for humans and will attack.

Again, people that kill domestic animals that aren't attacking humans are those with mental issues. A chicken can be replaced. A dog can be restrained if it's known to attack chickens, which many well treated dogs will do if they aren't raised around chickens and know them as part of the family unit. This isn't a dog with no home but an owned dog, and again, this man threatened humans. That isn't normal behavior if your chickens are being attacked by your dog. A normal human, raised to respect life and others, will negotiate a deal with the person who lost the chickens, as they don't cost much and are yes, food , and not a family pet.

Like I said, some people will eat anything, including domestic animals. They also drain lakes and net them out here, leaving nothing for the population like western countries do with conservation. There aren't any deer here besides those in protected provincial parks, besides those poached. Again, no conservation and selfish behavior only thinking of themselves. The respect for life itself here pales by comparison to the west, as can be seen how they treat women and children.

So you're saying a completely valueless pet dog has the right to kill and main the animal stocks and livelyhoods of everyone living around them, and make their children live in fear.

Sorry Fred, you sound like a narcissist to me.

Sorry Fred, you sound like a narcissist to me.

Actually what I've shown everyone here is the opposite of being a narcissist, so you might want to look up what makes one. No pets are valueless. They are part of the family and bring joy, loyalty and protection of humans and their property.

They do have to be trained not to attack others. Dogs and especially cats, which are natural born killers unless they are shown love to other animals, will attack other animals. They are territorial and will protect what they think is theirs. A dog or cat can learn to not attack when a puppy or kitten, if they are allowed around other types of animals. If they aren't they will attack anything that comes into their territory, mainly to protect their owners and property.

If they are spayed or neutered, they will be less aggressive, and they should be anyway unless you want babies from them.

Cats kill more animals than anything else if they are allowed to do so. Cats that are raised in homes with birds and lizards, guinea pigs or rats and snakes, will not attack. Left in the wild, all animals that are meat eaters will kill anything they can catch. Just like humans.

Pets are a mirror of their owners. if you love your pets, they will be a lot less likely to attack anyone or anything. Just having dogs or cats and letting them run loose has them acting like animals. A good dog will protect its territory from intruders, but you can teach them that neighbors are okay by allowing them to interact. Dogs have good memories, and remember who did them harm. Look at how dogs go to one person and not near others. They can sense who's a hurtful person.

Classic narcissist, you only care about what's yours.

That shows you know nothing about what makes a narcissist. They come from absent, unloving, abusive and or neglective parents. It's best not to assume about others you know little or nothing about.

I had two loving, caring, present parents. They didn't abuse or hit me but a couple of times. They taught me respect for life, animals and elders.

When you love yourself, you can love others. if you don't love yourself, you care nothing about others besides what you can get from them.

A narcissist only cares about what they can get from others, goes from one to another, only looking at them as conquests or money, using them then dropping them and onto the next one.

People who are empaths have the ability to feel what others feel, meaning empathy and not just sympathy. They make the best partners, parents and teachers. They'll do anything they can for their families even if their family sometimes does little for them.

In life, your partner comes first, then your children, family and then friends. Anything out of this order brings problems.
