Tramadol is an opiate, not an over-the-counter drug.

Available with a pharmacist present.

Available combined with paracetamol everywhere.

The green and yellow ones are pure tramadol. 50mg. No paracetamol mixed in. Widely available. Locally made. But risk of dependency from steady use and can cause constipation. Over time, dosage may also require increase because effectivity reduces over time from steady use.

Naproxen is amazing but hard on the stomach. Eat something with it.

That's weak, Ultracet tramadol/ paracetamol or better 50 mg pure tramadol if they will sell

Ultracet is very good.  Had to use it for the pain of a bladderstone - on a par with attack of the cheesegrater on your insides.   I hate pills, so welcomed Ultracet (paracetamol & tramadol - over the counter in Thailand) as it was only 2 pills a day as opposed to 6 prescribed full strength CoCodamol(paracetamol & codeine)

Topical diclofenac, (Difelene) and ibuprofen tablets work fairly well for me.

But after reading here will be trying naproxen.

I was recommended Tramadol by a doc a couple of years back and Ive used them ever since, when necessary. No sign of addiction.

Yes, they are amazing! Not available in Thailand, so I ordered some on ebay. My sister had chronic back pain, she had an American guest at the hotel she works at in UK who recognized her problem. He recommended naproxen sodium. The next time he saw her, he said 'The pain has disappeared from your face, too!  She is astounded to this day how quickly they took effect, and she hasn't had to take any recently.

My story is also knee inflamation and swelling due to years of weight training I think. I have taken four tablets since they arrived about 5 weeks ago! I have had no pain or swelling since! I am starting to believe in miracles!

Nice to have it confirmed......I was thinking maybe it was a one off fluke with me, but having said that, I did have a flair up and 'bang' the naproxen sorted it straight off.

I read that you can take one 500mg then you should drop back down to 250mg...?????

Can buy them by the box around my Isaan town. But, haven't tried to purchase any this year; maybe stricter now.

Naproxen is a NSAID and you should be careful at the doses quoted if you have kidney problems.

All drugs have many side effects (most will never happen) so you might want to search the internet for them.

This is one source: https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-5173-1289/naproxen-oral/naproxen-oral/details#sideeffects

Not really, your purchases just have to go on the drug database to see if you purchase too many.

Mine are only 220mg and I only took one at a time, usually after a meal. Like I said, incredible! 😂

I might also add that the American gave my sister some naproxen to try as they were his wifes who suffered from multiple sclerosis. My sister went to the doctor to get a prescription for more just in case, but was given an alternative, so not available in UK also.

For knee pain, antiinflamatories like naproxen, ibuprofen, diclofenac  etc are usually best but are contraindicated in some people e.g. those with gastritis/ulcers/other GI diseases and kidney disease, or bleeding disorders. Need to be cautious if also on any type of blood thinner.

There are also injections that can be done in doctor's office that often help e.g. steroid or HA.

Tramadol is good and Celebrex is equally good if you have no heart issues.

TRAMADIL CAPSULE 50mg  (other brands available)

Available at many pharmacies, most sold in blister packs of 10.

Bought half a dozen strips last month.

Indeed and stomach, opens you up to ulcers. Avoid alcohol on any NSAID.

Try some DMSO topically on your knee.

A couple weeks ago I had a complicated tooth extraction, the dentist gave me tramadol (the 50mg green & yellow caps) she said that was the strongest available, the next strongest would be morphine. I took a couple for a couple days then stopped as I know from experience that tramadol can get you addicted and it is extremely difficult to get yourself unhooked. So anyone using it should be very cautious and only take it when really neccessary.

Sadly for 20 years, ibuprofen was the recommended hangover remedy and to this day is the only thing that even dents a headache for me.  only in the last few years have warnings about the drug become mainstream.

The fact that you can buy them here in 400, 600, and 800 mgs is insane.

I'm lucky I didn't do myself serious harm back in my mad era.
