In a troubling incident in Phuket, an Uzbek national has been apprehended by local police on allegations of assaulting his girlfriend and stealing her belongings.

The victim, whose nationality remains undisclosed, lodged a complaint at the Wichit Police Station on Sunday, July 13. She accused her boyfriend, 41-year-old Artur Amirbekov, of physically attacking her at her condominium in Wichit's sub-district. After the alleged assault, Amirbekov reportedly fled with cash, a motorcycle, and a mobile phone.

Acting swiftly, officers tracked down Amirbekov and arrested him in Soi Na Sue, within the same area. During the arrest, authorities also recovered the victim's Yamaha Filano motorcycle.

Amirbekov now faces several charges under Thai law:

  • Theft at Night: Under Section 335, this charge carries a potential sentence of one to five years in prison and a fine ranging between 20,000 to 200,000 Thai Baht.
  • Property Damage: According to Section 358, this could result in six months to 10 years imprisonment and fines from 10,000 to 200,000 Thai Baht.
  • Physical Assault: Under Section 295, Amirbekov could face up to two years in prison, a fine of up to 40,000 Thai Baht, or both.

Details on the victim's condition or the precise value of the stolen items have not been disclosed. As the investigation continues, the local police are keen to ensure justice is served, whilst the case highlights ongoing concerns regarding violence and crime within tourist areas.

The incident underscores the importance of safety and vigilance, both for residents and visitors alike. The authorities are committed to maintaining peace and order, ensuring that Phuket remains a safe haven for all.

Throw the book at the <deleted> I’ll put them in jail as soon as he gets out the report his ass TIT

Not much info in the article. Maybe the stolen items was items he had gifted to his bargirl girlfriend, who did not love him long time anymore?

Maybe, but it says that the victim’s nationality are undisclosed, so I assume she isn’t Thai.

Sounds like a domestic argument that got out of hand.

Very nationalistic. He even makes a big 'U' with his arms.
