No, not stalking. Just staring.

U.K. Government Backs Bill to Criminalize Street Harassment

The measure targets behavior like catcalling or persistent staring with prison sentences of up to two years, in the hopes that more people will report such occurrences.

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/09/world/europe/uk-ban-street-harassment.html

So in the UK a woman can have a man imprisoned for looking at her. That's how far the feminists have perverted UK justice.

You really shouldn't post dross in this manner....you just come across as a Trump supporter.

Dominik Bullock of Thatcham, was not jailed solely for staring—the case escalated when his behaviour became confrontational and obstructive. According to police: he sat next to the victim on a Berkshire-bound train from Reading and stared so intently that she repeatedly asked him to stop and to move as he was blocking her exit. He refused both requests, even spreading his legs and telling her she’d have to “climb over him.” When other passengers intervened and she called the police, he still wouldn’t move. Eventually, the train manager had to remove him. Bullock was subsequently identified via CCTV and arrested.

I doubt you have kids, but try to imagine it was your daughter or ex Filipino he was hassling.

It's not really the point. The point is the UK is getting more and more repressive.  Including the new " Banter Bill" just passed by the HOL. It's a draconian bill which will limit freedom of speech in public places and workplaces including pubs, bars, and restaurants.

This bill will require employer to "police" their own establishment for fear that a member of staff may "take offense" at some he/she hears.

It heralds the crushing of free speech.

British transport has launched a campaign to warn men they will be prosecuted if they stare at women.

In the UK, a woman can now go to police and accuse  a man of staring at her and they will arrest him and he'lll be prosecuted. For looking at a woman.

This is not an isolated case.

Staring at a man is likely to get you punched in the face, never mind blocking their exit.

Only weaklings, incels and cowards stare at women and threaten them like that. Cowards the lot. She stuck up for herself and the filthy pig ramped up the physical threat inherent in his ignorant stare.

Staring at anyone is an aggressive act.

Try it with some guy your own size and age some time. Just stare at them. Constantly. See what happens. Where I come from you'd get your head kicked in.

Pathetic, mysogynist, incel posts on this thread all playing the victim card. 🤮

Oh yes silly me....let's just allow women to lead potentially miserable lives because m orons like you are too s tupid to have any concept of empathy.

You don't half talk some garbage. Many guys stare at a woman, just to admire the architecture. Nothing threatening at all.

I removed your comment as really we head off topic, but I had to wonder if the UK police are pursuing those recently off the boats who are known to leer after women and girls, causing their parents grief.

I would remove myself from sitting where I was if such behavior was being displayed before me, because a decent woman won’t behave like that and alarm bells would start ringing!

Simple problem- solving skills!

To remain seated there would indicate some form of obsessive behavior. Not a bad one to have but needs to be moderated so that you don’t get caught!

11th Commandment, thou shalt not be caught!! lol

Now, they made a law in the UK that a woman can have you locked up for looking at her, I just feel sorry for young guys.

Feminism has utterly taken control in the UK. Whistling? Cat-calling, 2 years jail. Looking at a woman? Harrassment - 2 years jail.

What a world to live in for the young guys. The feminists have shown no mercy and went for the jugular. Total domination.

He stared at the girl which got her all riled up. So they got into an argument. He sat next to the exit and extended his legs and refused to move for her. He didn't touch her and didn't verbally abuse her. She then called police and pressed charges against him.

It was the staring that precipitated the prosecution. Indeed in the UK it is now clearly established that men can be prosecuted for staring at women:

"Det Supt Sarah White, who leads BTP’s sexual offences team, dismissed the criticism and warned that her force is receiving daily reports of individuals committing sexual offences, including staring, across the country."

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/04/16/staring-tube-could-prosecuted-says-top-detective/

I do have kids, two daugthers in fact and I still find it distasteful that men get prosecuted for looking at a woman.

If it is true that the guy did everything that was reported here then he deserved to get jailed. What was his appearance like? Six ft tall, slim and clean shaven? I would doubt that very much, probably no more than five ft six and facial haired.

Pure sexism. Sounds like females can do it to males without problems. Before you tell, no no they don't do that. If you are as handsome as I am (was), they do it too, including patting your backside and more.

I don't think so, he extended his legs, ok obstruction, but he was not convicted because of that. It was the staring which prompted the woman to call police. Because they now know that they can get a man arrested whom they don't want looking at her.

I understand what you are saying, but it is 100% wrong to deliberately obstruct a stranger. If any guy who I did not know deliberately obstructed me anywhere, he would be guaranteed a very sore face.

That guy was a coward, I bet he would not do that to another guy.

Many women's lives are blighted because of attitudes like you express.

I am thoroughly disgusted you can defend anything that causes such upset to women.

I think Spidermike meant that if some hottie in shorts walk past it is fine to look as long as it is done very discreetly, no normal man is going to fail to notice hotties walking past, and I don't think the hotties notice either, though deliberate staring is a big No! No!

Sure, but she called police on him first. That can have the effect of causing some resentment in young guys. And it's not like he really obstructred her, he was sitting down and extended his legs, she could leave, she just had to clamber over him.

He was obviously angry because she called police very demonstratively on him.

Oh the poor little puddin'.......he behaves like a total dick, has people in the carriage intervene, and the station manager has to become involved....why would anyone call the police......he was only having a larff.

Posted

Not saying it's "acceptable", just trying to put things into a proper context. He wasn't sealing the door with his body and keeping anyone hostage.

And the reason people intervened and the station manager and police came was obviously because the woman made a massive incident out of a guy looking at her for too long. If you think that is a good society and healthy rules for men and women, then perhaps you need to get out of Isaan a bit.

She should have left it at that. A guy looks at her too long, ok, she's not comfortable. Here's a novel idea, just ignore it. But no, she had to call police, the station manager, incite other passengers to intervene, she made an elephant out of a mole hill.

This snowflake culture will just cause more problems. It won't solve a thing. Guys will still look at girls. Laws will lose all respect, police will lose all respect, welll, even more so.
