Calling On Expats for Help - Thai Ridgeback Dogs

Featured Replies

I have a number of Thai Ridgebacks that we were fostering/rehoming.

Unfortunately I need to leave and return home ASAP and we need to rehome the dogs.

All free to a good home.

None are aggressive, they were with us because either their owner passed (3), they were not being cared for (2) or they are pups (4).

If anyone can help by offering a dog a place, it would be amazing!
I'm on a fast ticking clock!

All dogs are 100% Thai Ridgebacks.
Some boys, some girls, breakdown below.

We are just outside Bangkok, but if you don't feel like a trip into the burbs, I can give you the number of a dog delivery service.

#1 Dexter

24 weeks old.

Very affectionate boy.
Fully house trained and comes when called.
Estimate his adult weight at 27-29 kilos.
Currently a gangly youth!
His favourite place is at your feet, but he's not needy.

#3 Mel

Girl

1 year

Easiest little dog, loves a comfy corner.
Never gives any grief.
Partial to zoomies.
Smallish for the breed, but solid.

#4 Buddy

Buddy is a great kid who has been with us far too long.
Lost his owner and the guy's wife didn't want him.
Not a bad bone in his body.
Loves a walk in between long snoozes.

Not demanding.
Not noisy but will let you know if someone's around!

#5 Luak Mhee (Bear Cub)

Mhee is baht <deleted> crazy and a perpetual clown.
Unbelievably athletic, she can clear most any fence.
Snakes, lizards and especially rats don't stand a chance.

She loves anyone who will give her a stroke and a hug.

And this is why she was called "Bear Cub."

#6 Blue Boy

Poor Blue also lost an owner and we had to take him in.

Kid is trouble free, doesn't bark unnecessarily, doesn't chew, clean pup.
Just turned 2.
His alert bark sounds like he ate a much bigger dog! lol

Always surprises me.

Damn this forum died a death!
Was a time when it was an active community, dead duck now judging by responses.

Almost all of the dogs rehomed via other platforms, this one isn't worth logging in now!

I believe you're referring to the days of ThaiVisa

That was a much happier, friendlier, more active environment.

@Steiner Good luck in finding new homes for the remaining dogs.

local temple??

That's where my ridge back came from, I noticed her as puppy living in the temple grounds with about 20 other dogs, I stroked her every time I visited the temple then one day she just followed me home, much to the annoyance of my 15 year old bitch but they get along fine now.

It's mostly for posting made up stories to get reactions nowadays...

If you still have some that need homes, contact me here or at 087-888-0876.

I have no way of knowing for sure, but it may be that many on this forum live in condos where pets are not allowed.

Dogs are a big responsibility, and restricts some people's activities.  Along with getting a 'strange' dog, you didn't train.

Also consider the forum is full of people having a hard time taking care of themselves, so not sure I'd trust most with a dog.

And last by not least, most active members, don't even live in Thailand.  Many that do, as stated, live where dogs, pets, aren't allowed.
