Not heard in public up here since ages.

I hear the 18:00 rendition in Tha Rae (near Sakon Nakhon city). As for morning, not in my village and I am never in Tha Rae in the morning.

From time to time the teacher in charge of scouting, resplendent in khaki shorts, shirt and a beret which could double as a helicopter landing pad throws a hissy fit about the standards of drill and discipline, which the youngsters quite sensibly ignore!

That is only on a Thursday for my kids.

Funny, that was my experience when I went to the cinema this month. Some foreigner standig up, but no Thai people. One even put his hand to his heart, standing to attention. But you could not hear his heel click, must have been the flipflops, but the movement was there. I nearly fell off my chair laughing.

It's really only a couple of years ago that people, including farangs, who refused to stand for the King's Anthem in cinemas would be beaten up.

I noticed recently that I rarely heard the National Anthem which used to be played everywhere at 8 + 18. And I never saw anything stop for it either bar in one rail station. 20 years ago virtually the whole country came to a standstill and you couldn't escape the music.

Not his anthem, not his leader we are 'aliens' here not residents. Best to ignore their nationalistic jingoism
