Photography service? - digitization of slides, prints, B&W negatives, etc.

Featured Replies

I hope to find a photo service to digitize some 35mm slides and some negatives both color and B&W.

Does anyone have a recommendation?

PhotoBug Digital Color Lab.

49 Chang Puak Rd.

Sri Phum, A. Muang, Chiang Mai.

Tel. 053 287 148

This is the go-to place for graphic arts professionals in CM.

They have some excellent tech guys who have always given me the best of service at reasonable prices.

Thanks.... I've sent them an email in English + Thai (using AI translation) and with Google maps I have found both their locations.

Sorry. to hijack the Chiang Mai thread, but is there a similar business in Phetchabun or Phitsanulok? Thank you 🙏🏻

Another example of a Thai company that lists but does not respond to email.

They emailed me, got them stored in my computer

I had thought of that.  I'd rather pay for the service of hopefully experienced workers than pay for the equipment and gamble that I can produce a good result.  I culled my collection so my slide/negative count is low.  The equipment would not get much use.

It's rather silly that a couple of emoji fans interpret my comment as anything other than an accurate observation of Photo Bug's responsiveness to a potential customer's inquiry.

During construction of our house I emailed/messaged many potential suppliers.  I got responses to about 20% of my attempts.  Many responders earned my business.... none that ignored my query did.

I have hundreds of slides that I would like to have digitized but was waiting until I go back to my home country. Are there any companies like Photo Bug in Bangkok. I wonder if it would be safe to just mail my slides to this company and if they would send back a flash drive with digitized slides and original slides.

I can't say for sure, but as far as I know Photo Bug is a CM based operation with no branches in other cities.

Phetchabun and Pee-lok may have some decent digital color labs now. It all depends on what quality level you want.

As a graphic artist, I have hi-res scans of my originals done for digital art prints. Photo Bug does an excellent job of the scans. I have the prints done at Pattrara Pre-press in CM, or Bloom Pro Lab in Bangkok.

I recently had some old family photos copied and printed at Photo Bug.

late 19th and early 20th century silver prints reproduced exceptionally well, with the sepia tones coming out very close to our photos.

Tech support means everything in these places.

Good luck with your projects.

If you where not "offended" then why did you even mention the emoji reactions ?

I used SNOWWHITE in Bangkok to print a large graphic in HP RTL format with excellent results.

info(at)snowwhite.co.th

Their webpage does mention scanning so you could  contact them through various means, they are very responsiv and priced my job quite reasonably.
