Possibly more dividends on the way for lower income people.

Come on, the hate for this man is exaggerated and you folks are way too arrogant to ever admit anything positive he does.

I honestly believe the hate for this man is not enough. I think it should be more adamant, I think the entire planet should reject him wholesale, and simply stop consuming American products, and stop selling to the US.

Only through major disaster and a total loss of support, does a leader as arrogant, dumb, nasty and foolish as Donald Trump learn anything.

When Donald Trump says something like this what it really means is that drug prices have not come down at all, and if anything they've gone up.

Just more of his ridiculous brand of smoke and mirrors.

I love it how we have a woke thread venting on Trump for upending false democrat narratives, while also having a Russia collusion hoax thread running concurrently. Hilarious!

We don't. We have a thread discussing how Trump's endless lies are catching up on him in a big way, which is directly connected to another thread discussing the latest desperate MAGA stunt to divert from the effects of Trump's lies catching up to him.

Exactly some of the smartest, but on average you guys score low.

Every empire had great thinkers and scientists, the downfall came because of stagnation and the empire started to chase the intellectuals, and started the general blaim games on innocent people.

I think we all can agree people like Musk is geniuses in their specific fields, but their human IQ is dangerous.

Trump is a good street smart guy, but as an leader for people, he is a catastrophe, and I think most of you guys knows it,

That low IQ Trump is lying. He really has a low Intelligence Quotient, if he thinks anyone with even a modicum of intelligence believes he got top marks in any intelligence test. It's actually really embarrassing to have such an idiot for their president.

I guarantee, if anyone asked him on the spot what IQ stood for, he would fumble for an answer. He is a cheat. A liar. A crook. No doubt. Dog whistling lowlife.

No. I lead a very full and a very fulfilling life. The reality is that life broke Trump. He has absolutely everything that he needs to be happy and fulfilled in this lifetime, yet he finds a way to wake up every morning miserable, angry, and bitter and he feels this compelling need to take that out on humanity, rather than actually doing some good with his fortune, which would never occur to him in a million years.

As a devotee of the fake master you simply object to truth, criticism, facts and revelations about his past. They must hurt. Admit it.

Good move if he does.

Would be nice to see these cartels finally wiped out.

If found a study that applies to you and your ilk.

Communal Narcissism

An agency-communion model of narcissism distinguishes between agentic narcissists (individuals

satisfying self-motives of grandiosity, esteem, entitlement, and power in agentic domains) and communal

narcissists (individuals satisfying the same self-motives in communal domains). Five studies supported

the model. In Study 1, participants listed their grandiose self-thoughts. Two distinct types emerged:

agentic (“I am the most intelligent person”) and communal (“I am the most helpful person”). In Study

2, we relied on the listed communal grandiose self-thoughts to construct the Communal Narcissism

Inventory. It was psychometrically sound, stable over time, and largely independent of the Narcissistic

Personality Inventory—the standard measure of agentic narcissism. In Studies 3 and 4, agentic and

communal narcissists shared the same self-motives, while crucially differing in their means for need

satisfaction: Agentic narcissists capitalized on agentic means, communal narcissists on communal means.

Study 5 revisited the puzzle of low self–other agreement regarding communal traits and behaviors.

Attesting to the broader significance of our model, this low self–other agreement was partly due to

communal narcissists: They saw themselves as high, but were seen by others as low, in communion.

No. I accept that there will be a period of adjustment. Even left wing economists like Krugman say there will be a one-time jump in prices but after that no more than what used to be an acceptable rate.

The problem is the one time jump in prices is then baked in...to be paid for forever more....!

Most people in the UK think if inflation goes down from 5% to 2% things are getting cheaper......seriously.. They have no concept that prices are rising still, just not as fast as they were.

the ""good"" news come in packs, Trump doesn't stop amusing us with his constant tariffs remarks, he knows he fell on his attempt but he keeps diverting to see if the american consumers can just swallow his "new taxation" because the tariffs are taxes

President Trump hails the revenue from his protectionist trade policy as a kind of tribute, a price America's trading partners must be willing to pay to enjoy access to the U.S. market.

In reality, it is largely a tax on consumption – and one that American consumers will ultimately bear.

The fog is lifting on Trump's dubious tariff policy

One of the positive aspects of Trump continuing to obfuscate, lie and spin is that a lot of Americans are seeing through the nonsense, and that's one of the reasons why his polling is so dismal at this point.

And before his supporters start defending him with accusations of fake poll numbers bear in mind that's the exact reason why he got himself in this pickle. Lies.

Doom and gloom  Liberals need to stop watching fear mongers like CNN.  They predicted the stock market would crash, tariffs would bankrupt the country and the economy would tank.  The reality is exactly the opposite as all are doing quite well for the American people!  In 6 months Trump has done more to “fix” the catastrophe that Biden left behind than can be believed!  Just tired of misinformed haters out there!

Trump claims higher tariffs would have prevented the Great Depression.

I don't have a Phd in economics and I really don't understand all the complexities of tariffs.

They appear to be double-edged swords, like interest rates. Higher or lower interest rates affect different aspects of the economy positively and other aspects negatively. Same with tariffs. They keep changing, so no one seems to agree what the ideal level should be.

The Smoot - Hawley tariffs of 1930 are agreed upon by economists as kick-starting the Great Depression.

Trump's infatuation with tariffs apparently began when he visited Japan as President-elect. He fastened on Japan's protectionism of its agricultural sector.

In fact, trade policy in Japan is a mix of free trade and protectionism.

He was probably also impressed with how modern Japanese manufacturing operations are. Many manufacturing operations in the USA failed to modernize. The working cultures are also entirely different.

To someone with a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

While there's a broad agreement among economists that the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930 worsened the Great Depression, it's not universally agreed that it was the sole or primary factor in

starting it.
