Just done this: 5 minute wait to reach the counter, documents checked then shown to the next counter a metre away. The officer there took a minute to write me a new slip, gave me my passport back and said cheerfully "go home". All told 6 minutes in and out. 

Terrific service, just as long as you have all your paperwork in order.

Well done to the staff there for the improvement.

Same last month...they have moved to 90 day report counter from the older building into the newer one...I asked the Lady officer (the one thats been there quite some time and always pleasant) if they had been "naughty" hence the relocation....she understood I was joking and smiled replying "new boss new ideas" 👍

An odd tning there is that the queue giving desk is just to the right of the processing  desk. Not the main information queue line in the other front building.

In some cases yes, others do it for a day out

No reason explained, I get an Email telling me it's time to report.

I have an extension of stay and work permit from the BOI office in Chonburi.

When you get that email you don't apply that day or it fails, wait for at least 1 more day

I got a new passport. 

I've been doing online for many years but with a new passport you need a new tm30 and 90 day report in person.

I assumed next ones could be done online.

But no.

Was told I won't be able to do online again before exiting and reentering Thailand.

I pardon him due to his age and seemingly uninformed fearing long queues.

Didn't even know about online when I first told him.

I certainly do not see the silliness of having to get up and go to an agent, probably twice, and pay, when on-line is completely free and one need not go anywhere. I suppose needing a laptop and printer is the only reason. Also most agent offices, and immigration itself, is a good distance from where I live, and Pattaya is hardly an easy place to drive around and find parking. I went Bolt both ways last time, added to the cost. 

Pity , over the years  I  got  used to the long lines and confusion !
