Best Agency to Renew OA Visa

Featured Replies

Now that VIP Visa is no longer operating, I am looking for another agency to help renew my OA retirement visa. I would like some recommendations please. I have no interest in doing it myself, so please refrain from suggesting that.

I guess you mean extension on the visa, a new one would be obtained outside Thailand.

If you have all the requirements, money on deposit, insurance etc, most Visa offices similar service, like Meaneerat on Soi 13.2, One Stop, soi 6, Key Visa near BigC South, I am sure other names will come up.

As above, you don't renew an OA visa, you get an extension on your stay in Thailand for another 12 months. A lot of the agents are having trouble with the bank accounts at the moment so you may have to shop around if you don't have an established account. Also, if your original visa is an OA, any extension will be subject to the original insurance requirement, and agents wont be able to help with that.

Otherwise any of the agents mentioned above will be able to help.

I have used Cambodian travel on Soi Buhkoa. They have always been real good to me All you need is your passport & 13800 Baht for the year you don't need to do anything but go to immigration & snap a picture & go to the bank for about 1/2 an hour maybe an hour pending on how many in the cue qt the bank.  Even a slight overstay 200 baht & solved.

Where in country do you live? I can give you the agency I use in Bangkok but not much use to you if you live in Issan.

I live in Pattaya.  That's why I posted in the Pattaya Forum.

Nice outline of corruption, you need 800.000 and pay 1900 baht

Friend of mine is on an OA & he pays an additional 2,500 for “Assistance” with the Health Insurance requirements.

OP as others have recommended, Maneerat would be a good agent to ask.

Is that the new price? It was 12,500 last year.

Thanks for the information.

That's for visa renewal. What would it be like for obtaining a retirement OA visa for the first time?

I have used the agency inside the Chonburi Immigration complex (Visa to England or somesuch name). They are the ones wearing vests and helping people with their paperwork. They have charged me 15,000 to get everything done including a phony insurance policy included in the price. I have to be taken inside by one of the agents and have my photo taken in front of a particular kiosk, and they do the rest. I'm American and probably pay more than some others probably do, but it's quick and convenient. I have recently moved to Sa Kaeo province so I am going to try to do it on my own at the Aranyapratet Immigration office where they have signs posted saying "No Gifts". There are also no agents around. Wish me luck.

You need a Krungsri Bank account with them now. They no longer deal with Bangkok Bank. I had to open a new account that the agent arranged for me free of charge. Same price as last year12.900, that was in April. Maneerat still deal with Bangkok Bank but it's a long winded process via Bangkok (the city).

Not sure about that, a friend was asked to open a new account with a different bank. Situation has yet to settle!

Ok point taken it's obviously changed. That was the situation until recently. I have just seen the post above by @Kenny Boy

Yes, Kasikorn (and a particular branch, apparently) is the flavor of the month for Maneerat.  From what I hear.
