I went to mail by SS" proof of life!" 

No mail to America, I was told. There are substantial articles about this happening, but I missed them. Called FBU in Manila to get information on how to 'report in' but although I had correct day and time,  I could not get a real person.

Does anyone know what we are to do to get our SS papers mailed.

@Bill97, have you mailed a letter and it was not an issue?

 

The Pattaya Mail has an article that says all post even letters but news seems to often get things wrong so would like to know if someone has mailed a letter recently.

Maybe a staff who can't understand the difference.

 

My pension fund in the Netherlands accepts email attachments. Ask if that is a possibility.

I just tried to send a letter to the US (friends SS proof of life) at the post office and they told me all mail is suspended to the US at the moment.

I'm not an a US embassy mailing list.

I recall they do communications to Americans who have registered with them.

Any word from them?

Nothing on the website. 

It seems to me they could at least try for us to communicate that most countries are not blocking letters and that it wouldn't be a problem if they at least lifted the letters blocking. If that's true of course (that letters won't be a problem.)

Australia Post has cancelled all mail deliveries to the USA.

From all that I have seen, packages, not letter mail...and even packages with value less than 100 USD from some news programs.  I sent an ems envelope with papers inside and it went through but not sure if that was before or after they initiated the stopping of parcels.

It had to be before if from Thailand. EVERYTHING is blocked now except courier service.

It's for official government correspondence and documents for official use.

We lowly peasants can send ballots, perhaps also SocSec forms.

 

Would have to contact embassy to confirm.

I'm registered with them. So far, I've received nothing in my email about this mail issue.

Somebody ask them please.

SSA forms are once a year.

I wouldn't be that much of a big deal for them to do just that.

Every now and then they send out a message to avoid some demonstrations or political activity. Because I'm crowd averse, it doesn't affect me either.

By Christmas we'll only be able to get a lump of coal in our stocking.

Has anyone contacted ACE (American Citizens Service) at the US Embassy in BKK about this? I mean the Embassy can at least get clarity as to how long  this will last.

Can verify, just left the Post Office and they called main office. All mail services to the US have been suspended.
