Consumer protection police have raided two locations in Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani, seizing hundreds of bottles of counterfeit lubricant and sex toys being sold illegally online.

The raids, led by the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) under the order of Pol Maj Gen Patthanasak Bubphasuwan, followed court-approved search warrants from Nonthaburi and Thanyaburi Provincial Courts.

Officers seized 853 bottles of lubricant labelled for genital use, 734 sex toys and related documents. The operation came after complaints that counterfeit products and prohibited items were being sold through social media.

Police identified the owner as Mr Pruen, 34, who admitted responsibility. He told investigators he had set up a company with friends to distribute the goods online, claiming they were intended for sexual education. He also revealed he had business interests abroad designing sexual wellness devices and had attempted to expand into the Thai market.

Authorities charged him with selling counterfeit medical devices and distributing obscene materials.

Pol Maj Gen Patthanasak warned that lubricants used on the body are classified as medical devices and must meet safety standards. Some seized products displayed expired medical registration numbers to mislead consumers.

He cautioned that unregulated production could pose health risks, urging illegal distributors to cease operations immediately or face strict legal action.

Some of those toys were maybe for real women so they won't need real men.

  • Fake lube?  Ouch. And, I have never understood the use of sex toys.  A real man who knows what he is doing does not need stupid toys to take care of business.

  • what r u supposed to do ? brush your teeth with it ?

I bought one of these "Toys" recently for my aging wife. She hated it and said she would rather have a pet bird, she does love a Cockatoo.

Way too expensive, try some old 10 / 40 engine oil.

For any desperate old fools out there, used oil is much cheaper

Another reason why aliens won’t visit us. Just another example of inexplicable human  nonsense

so he will pay a fine and go free? counterfeiting is a serious offence - which companies products were counterfeit? most gels are waterbased . Oil butter lard is best avoided as it is not designed for body cavities...except the stomach via the mouth. do we really have to put a warning label on these?

It is not just Thailand, it's the same in the UK, US, Australia and Europe to name just a few.

Real criminals are being arrested also, there's more than seven officers in the RTP.

Readily available in sex shops in Oz. Nothing illegal about that

So I presume they have also raided the street stall sellers in the middle of Bangkok selling the exact same products in public view?

Another resounding success for the RTP. So good to see they’re addressing the important issues of Thailands criminal activities. Dildo’s and lube, that’s got the stall holders selling them on Sukhumvit quaking in their boots, NOT!

I'm sure your wife & girlfriends will tell you something other!!! Hahaha...

Why is this a concern of the Police? This seems something designed to help couples have happier intimate times together.  Not usually something that police are involved in.

I didn't say that it (lube) was illegal, I was saying that, as in almost all other countries, the lube is subject to local regs/standards.  Some poster was suggesting that it was just  "crazy Thailand" that had those regulations.
