Not quite. He's in a prison hospital like last time where I saw the ward which looked like a 5* hotel. That's not a prison cell. Where it it has enough room for a toilet and bed and that's it!. And at worse sharing it with a potential, "Jack the ripper" in a double deck bed. 🤪

Are we going to hear  BS being dripped  out every day about this convicted criminal it’s getting boring we all know that this guy will be taking advantage when and where he can

do you not  know what policy's  mean    !!!!!! look it up and in Thaskins own words "I just give the policy

Human rights commissioner Wasant Panich thinks otherwise. "Those who devised the policy are primarily responsible for the deaths,"

Yes, the prison hospital.  What I meant is he should be back in his prison cell if he isn't sick and not hanging out in a hospital room once again.

I don't think that even you are going to be stupid enough to absolve Thaksin for those killings.

Please provide a verifiable source to show Thaksin killing or giving a direct order to kill an individual.

Don't be such a bl00dy idiot. Your comment is just ridiculous.

Thaksin was in charge and responsible for the policy.

I heard from a serving policeman in the north east that 'orders from above' allowed them to have 2 drugs related deaths a week. If you want to contact him for verification I believe that he still lives in the Nakhon Phanom area.

I asked for "a verifiable source to show Thaksin killing or giving a direct order to kill an individual"!

Your response does not answer that question!

You are flogging a dead horse mate, these people claiming Thaksin gave direct orders to kill have zero proof.

Thanks Margaret Thatcher the "Iron Lady". By the way. Are you sure Thaksin is in a medical ward?

The war on drugs was widely criticised by the international community. Thaksin requested that the UN Commission on Human Rights send a special envoy to evaluate the situation, but said in an interview, "The United Nations is not my father. I am not worried about any UN visit to Thailand on this issue."[105]

After the 2006 coup, the military junta appointed a committee to investigate the anti-drug campaign.[106] Former Attorney General Kanit Na Nakorn led the committee. Concerning the committee's results The Economist reported in January 2008: "Over half of those killed in 2003 had no links to the drugs trade. The panel blamed the violence on a government 'shoot-to-kill' policy based on flawed blacklists. But far from leading to the prosecutions of those involved, its findings have been buried. The outgoing interim prime minister, Surayud Chulanont, took office vowing to right Mr Thaksin's wrongs. Yet this week he said there was insufficient evidence to take legal action over the killings. It is easy to see why the tide has turned. Sunai Phasuk, a researcher for Human Rights Watch, a lobbying group, says that the panel's original report named the politicians who egged on the gunmen. But after the PPP won last month's elections, those names were omitted."[107]

While he was opposition leader, Abhisit Vejjajiva accused Thaksin of crimes against humanity for his alleged role in the campaign. After being appointed Prime Minister, Abhisit opened an investigation into the killings,

if you don't believe the UN, international human rights organizations   and Abhisit Vejjajiva or the newspapers at the time you are just a fool blinded by a evil man THIS is Thailands  SHAME

Thaksin finds this funny. "I've done nothing wrong!" he laughs. "I just give the policy."

Human rights commissioner Wasant Panich thinks otherwise. "Those who devised the policy are primarily responsible for the deaths," he says. Mr Wasant believes that only the threat of an ICC trial will ensure this kind of incident never happens.
Lawyers have suggested that Thaksin's drug war might amount to a crime against humanity under Article Seven of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court [ICC], set up in 1992."

policy's Are  government Instructions /orders      and the buck stops with the pm thaskin

but no matter what the truth is presented to a Thaskin bigot  you will always be a Denialist

Thiskins own words
"I just give the policy."
policy's Are  government Instructions /orders      and the buck stops with the pm thaskin
read the reports on the internet its all there in black and white
but as i said a thaskin bigot  will deny the truth

Reasons for Denying Truth
  • Psychological coping: As a defense mechanism to avoid overwhelming or stressful truths.
Bias and prejudice: Holding deeply ingrained beliefs that conflict with new information.
Social and political influences: Being part of a group that actively promotes denial for ideological or political reasons.
Emotional avoidance: A desire to evade uncomfortable feelings associated with a particular truth.

You have got that right!

Thaksin set his policy, not the instructions and directions to the police etc just as all PMs/Presidents etc.

I say again;

I asked for "a verifiable source to show Thaksin killing or giving a direct order to kill an individual"!

Can you provide such a source?

Please answer "yes" with a source or "NO" with an apology!

Please note the word "might" highlighted above!

You have still not answered my question and as you never can or will I will say goodnight!

Many rather pathetic comments here, Thaksins the very least of Thailands problems and even if he did buy the guards pizza, so what!! Of course he is going to get preferential treatment in prison, many Thai's hold him in high regard and for good reason!! The best thing he could have done was declared war on drugs, its a shame for Thailand that it didnt get the same attention from those after him. So I guess for those of you that take illegal substances are going to be Thaksin bashers no matter what!!!

Jealousy. The negative is that T had 3,000 alleged drug dealers murdered by police. On the positive, Thais would not have health insurance if not for hios 30-baht scheme.

When the Independent Committee on the Casualties of the 2003 War on Drugs established by the Surayud Chulanont government published its report in 2008, it concluded that 1,372 of the people killed had no drug related records.

The 30 baht health scheme is good but unlike the UK's NHS, it doesn't cover adequately all diseases and conditions.

If someone gets a serious disease, they will often have to pay, often beyond the means of the poor.

Secondly, state hospitals often mean long waits for treatment which is why private clinics abound in Thailand, frequently opposite the government hospital! These clinics are usually run by doctors from the state hospital who make far more from their private clinics than their government salary.

I don't want to sound cynical but it's not in the doctor's interest to have all the patients quickly seen to in the government hospital!

the 30baht scheme was not thaskins idea but  it was a concept developed by public-health civil servants, notably Dr. Sanguan Nitayarumphong, starting in the 1980s,    the democrat's tried to make it government policy but it was stolen by thaskin  google is your friend if you take your time to research

We both know how Thailand operates and these often politically & other motivated committees are usually structured to achieve a pre desired or orchestrated outcome. Drug dealers are in my opinion the scum of the earth who create & feed off the misery of others, countries like Thailand where corruption is endemic and political witch hunts are easily achieved anything goes. Where I live there is common knowledge of dealers who offer basically anything you want in illegal substances! I expect to get many comments from readers who use illegal substances because in their sick minds they think this is ok, Its a world full of sad sick sorry people that we live in!!!
