He'll do/say whatever Peter Thiel tells him to.  No mystery involved.  Imagine foreign heads of state having discussions with him, and a a point of frustration they say to him "i want to speak to your manager!"

I hope he clamps down on free speech.

People talking way too much trash online these days.

It’s the #1 first amendment for a reason now clamping down on ANYONE who gets violent id be on board with.furthermore Charlie Kirk was a victim of the racism and division he preached no doubt about it.That doesn’t mean I personally approve of his murder it is tragic but not surprising in my view.

Possibly. Probably.

But as president he could arguably have F-YOU power against Thiel and his other handlers who brought him this far.

In no way am I suggesting that there is any realistic chance that he would transform into anything decent. I also think his intelligence level has been greatly overestimated.

But I still think there is some room for surprise if (when) that happens.

I do think it's a high likelihood that it will. Probably related to Trump's rapidly decling health, or other things such as the Epstein scandal taking him down.

So I posed the VP pick question here.

Who he picks as VP would be his first major decision as president and would likely tell us something about what to expect later.

I don't have a specific prediction but I don't think it would be MTG or a similar sort of maga troll.

I am not sure who will be the worse president, Trump or Vance.

It doesn't matter who comes after Trump. Unless the Democrats get their act together, the US will be governed by Republicans (Trumpists).

As the GOP has been infected by a dangerous virus called "Trumpism". Even without Donald, Trumpism will remain the guiding light within the GOP for a long time to come. Therefore, it doesen't matter who follows Donald, it will likely be just another Trumpist.

The only thing that could weaken Trumpism is a failing US economy due to erratic and counterproductive decisions, hurting the US economy in a major way.

Vance does not have the charisma or personality of Trump. MAGA is what it is because of Trump. There are many loyal MAGites waiting in the wings, including Trump's family members who believe themselves worthy of the office.  Vance would be a caretaker and could not deliver the 2-5% of voters who made the difference last election. He has his detractors in the Republican party. Those voters might stay home or gravitate to moderates like Josh Shapiro, Andy Beshear, Greta Whitmer and even JD Pritzker.  The US will be in the mood for stability and calm, and vote much as it did when Biden was elected. When the time comes for Trump to leave, it will be a whole new ball game. As bad as people say the Democrat party state is, the Republicans have simmering disputes and many are waiting the opportunity to change the leadership and to rid itself of the Silicon Valley group.

Those people are unknown, Vance would have a far better chance to get the votes needed.

If he does he will be considerably more right wing than Trump ever was..

I suspect Kevin Roberts, Tucker Carlson or Marco Rubio would be his picks for VP, probably Roberts.

All fine and good. But why are GOP members of congress/senate staunchly support Donalds "legislations"?

Clearly: Fearing for their "Jobs/Elections" within the GOP. The old saying: If you can not beat then, join them. The circle of "dependencies" is fully established.

You are right. However, once Trump is gone, the  influence will lessen. There will be a day of reckoning, a reset, and it will not be pretty.

Sarah Palin or some random Fox news "personality."

Of course, if he needs to supercharge the base......

Agreed.

Vance isn't crazy.

That could be a pro or a con.

Both parties are bought and paid for by big money. 60 percent of Kamalas donations were over 200k per.

Chris Cuomo detailed all this out at the dnc.

Who's wife? Not  JD's. Usha is a lawyer and clerked for conservative judges like SCOTUS' Kavanaugh and Roberts. I expect that she is of a conservative mindset, although respectful of the law's limitations. Aside from her biography, I know nothing about her.

Obvious VP choice would be Marco Rubio. He has been a very competent SecState, and could step into the role easily.

Marco is  a potential presidential candidate next election. He would be politically foolish to accept a VP role.

Exactly.

Under normal circumstances Iwould agree.  But I can't see him challenging JD for the nomination.  Marco is still relatively young,  he could run in 2036 after JD's 2 terms are over.

Oh, he will continue but I think Vance is slightly more cerebral and not as harsh as Trump.  Also, I bet he picks a strong woman as VP.
