Perhaps there's still some fairness left in Thailand?

Very unlikely. Regardless of his politics he is elderly and will probably be paroled before too long. There is a tipping point where lengthy incarceration works against the conservative establishment. All these extra potential charges is just sending a message.

Any new pictures with his "prison-haircut" ?

All this attention on Thaksin makes me wonder what they are trying to sneak through or divert attention from unnoticed smoke and mirrors.

Maybe the scriptwriters have changed?

Or think it's time for a pay rise??

Another political witch hunt, the Thai elites must be really scared of Thaksin!!

Murder of the 3,000 odd innocent so called druggies could add a few lifetimes to his sentence. Best tried at the Hague like Duterte. Thailand is too corrupt to jail the guy as we keep seeing.

72 actually and good riddance, they are parasites & a menace to society!!

Brace yourself Mister Thaksin - you will win, eventually!

Music to my ears I’m at a loss as to why he did not stay in Dubai when he was there 3 or 4 weeks ago was he given a false tip off that he walk away as a free man ! I’m a great believer of Karma

Thats exactly what I was thinking at the time. There was no way he was returning to Bkk for court unless he was tipped off that all was clear..I was very surprised when he arrived. They,ve cornered the "big rat" now and lets see what develops...popcorn time..

A bit off the main subject but if left as it has been the last 3 years, thailand will be flooded in drugs and we have all seen how that works out, families ruined, murders, so many crazy people on the streets including foreigners,

children suffering, debt. Just look at cities in the US to see what happens when drugs are out of control.
As for Thaksin, I doubt very much anything will come of the killings in 2003.
It happened again in 2023 when the army was in power. Heard anything lately ?
The hospital stay will soon be old news and at his age he won’t be in prison long.

His "war on drugs" saw 2,873 Thais dead in a matter of three months, from February to April, 2003. The victims included whole families, women, children and old people

When the Independent Committee on the Casualties of the 2003 War on Drugs established by the Surayud Chulanont government published its report in 2008, it concluded that 1,372 of the people killed had no drug related records.

Just drop him off in Deep South Thailand. Tell him he will have to survive for a week!  When they discover who he is he will disappear never to heard from again.

It seems his opponents fear him still very hard..... as  they try so hard to make him run again to Dubai

Corrections Department officials are probably feeling uncomfortable about their collusion. Doctors now realizing they may face more charges. It's hard to be a politician out of favor.

Bet he wishes he stayed put in Dubai.

He probably is in Dubai and some look alike minion is doing time.

Why would he do a dodgy flight to Singapore, divert to Dubai, and come back the next day?

Family visiting regularly to round the deception out.

His enemies doing their utmost to keep him in jail.
Don’t write the man off yet.
Hero of Thailand doesn’t fall that easily.

And yet the same government didn’t proceed with any criminal charges due to insufficient evidence. Haha what a joke.
Google Surayud Chulanont to see what a vile little man he is

The chair of the commission concluded that all 2,873 killings should be considered crimes against humanity. Since the day the report was published, not a single case has been pursued.

This culture of impunity is our national shame.

Thailand is full of evil men

shame on Thailand for supporting a man of evil

New billboard ads should be popping up all over the country

Former Thai leader Thaksin Shinawatra could face a jail term longer than his current one-year sentence due to a possible new lawsuit. Allegations involve his supposed conspiracy to avoid imprisonment by staying in a Police Hospital ward for six months, following his return from self-exile in 2023. Authorities suggest Thaksin may have exploited legal loopholes with help from certain officials

The way things are going he won't be serving this one year sentence in jail, he'll get a medical opt-out-of-jail card and get home care.
